  • I've a friend who sells them And they are very uncompetitively priced compared to other retailers. I wouldn't buy them as a consumer, imagine it will take a hard sale, or friends who aren't bothered about price.
  • That company has been around for quite awhile. If you plan to build your business outside of your friends and family you will need to learn how to market.

Just a slightly more positive view on it, I have sold over £1200 of books in 6 weeks, granted it's Christmas but still a lot more than i thought I would achieve.

I am selling at fairs, toddler groups and parties (not all friends and family).

I can take my little girl along with me to some events or do them when her dad is about.

    I love it so far!

Hello! Just wondering if anyone is still doing Usborne from this thread, I joined 6 weeks ago and am loving it.

Sold over £1k this month so will be getting my extra commission too!

    :j

Read through this thread and it's given me lots of inspiration to go ahead with, I think I would rather go down the groups and schools route but I am a bit shy on the phone at arranging meetings, well actually I am not but I get all worked up talking to people I don't know.

Would be nice to know there are still some others selling who were a few years ago :)

Yay I am not alone! :p

Totally loving it! Got 3 more fairs before Christmas but no more parties yet.

Just need to be brave on the school front!

  • Your confidence will build :) Just make sure you seek out the Literacy Co-ordinator or PTA Chair at your Christmas Fairs ;) Yes parties are definitely a good earner!

My parties so far have all hit the £100 mark but not much over, people kept cancelling on my hosts! That's what has kinda put me off!

Hello Looney, just wondered how you were getting on, are you having a quiet couple of months before WBD? I am needing some inspiration :)

    Hello! Happy new year!

Are you going to the Gala/Conference tomorrow? I'm dead excited about it :) It will be my 11th one and I'm in the running to win an award!

I always find that the Conference gives me lots of inspiration and excitement to really get going in the new year.

Have you bought any of the stuff in the sale? I've bought in a few bits and have dates planned to go in to visit my local toddler groups later this month. I'm also planning a big sale on Facebook at the end of the month, and probably a home sale.
