  • Has anyone been picked as a daily finalist twice in the same week? I've been selected four-ish times now but never in the same week. Seems a bit odd to me considering the low hit count of the page. I'm beginning to wonder if its worth entering again during a week where I've already been chosen.
Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

  • I think it's a cool and original idea and I can see why they have patented it, but I was thinking that, surely, a flaw behind the concept of this competition is that when people are clicking on the ads, they aren't doing it because they are genuinely interested in the company or service being advertised, they are just doing it to try and find an entry form. I don't know much about the advertising world, but surely company owners wouldn't want to waste time paying for ads they knew people weren't really interested in reading? It certainly won't boost their sales or make people go to their websites, will it? Maybe it might increase "brand awareness" in the sense that the names of those companies will now stick in our heads for ever after, having had to click on them a gazillion times a day... :rotfl:

Today's answer is farmer brindley - don't put the and in or it will be marked as incorrect!!
  • Hello poodledoodledoo,

I was selected twice in week 8 but sadly didn't get through to the next round so am still plodding away trying to get a weekly win. Would be great not having to spend so much time on it wouldn't it?

    Yep it sure would
Still, it's a good prize so worth a little extra effort I reckon ;)
Thanks for clearing up my query anyway - I just thought it strange that I'd been picked so many times but never in the same week. Must just be a coincidence :D

It's odd, but people in marketing found that average people tend to see an ad about 7 or 8 times before deciding to buy something if they aren't looking for it to start with...also the more you see a name the more you trust it (and if it's linked to something you LIKE..then the trust transfers over and you identify with the advertised product too...hence TV progs being sponsored so much).

The daft thing with this comp is that most ads are so very local...it's not like most of us are going to use the places advertised is it ? Unless we win he house of course...which will be too late lol .

I'd bet the advertisers aren't doing badly with the local visitors.

I can't understand why they haven't managed to get in on some of the other comp sites really though?

Time will tell I suppose ..just hope one of us gets a nose in here :)
