I always leave mine to cool covered in cold water for at least 5 mins and usually have no problems, making sure the shell is well cracked helps as well, if you can't do the rolly thing (I'm a bit hit and miss with that and sometimes press too hard) use the back of a knife and hit it all over.

Some eggs though just will not peel, no rhyme or reason.

Oh and then there is the slippery devil which makes you think, I really must give this floor a clean. Just for the record, no I don't, I bin it if that happens.
Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw

apologises for spelling mistakes - google toolbar and I have had a hissy fit and I've lost me spell checker.

hmmmmmm - i had this problem once when making my pickled eggs for christmas. I had thirty eggs and they were all bu99ers to peel!!! (understand the egg rage). when i thought about it though, instead of buying my usual free range eggs from local farm shop (and they were free range the chickens were running all over the car park!) i had bought the cheep (sorry, couldnt resist) eggs from Asda. since then my nephew has thankfully provided me with free free range eggs from his partners farm! and havent had the prob since. also i put them in colander under cold running water as soon as they ready. and roll them around on worktop till all crackly! and i still do about 30 to 40 eggs for pickling for christmas as family insist on a couple of jars each!

Hi Hannah ;) I suffer from a few other rages heh but I won't get into that hehe :A

Back to the eggs though. Drives me up the wall that these days they seem harder to peel than they they used to. Could be a number of reasons why they don't peel well.

well - if no-one is looking its just run under cold tap - i assume the pickling vinegar kills germs! but if its for egg sarnie etc ooohh its a quandary - would depend on how many eggs i had or needed. :D

Asked the oh random q as in if i drop an egg on floor and rinse it would you eat it...... "of course!" though this is from the man who ate slugs and worms out of the garden as a boy!!! (he's 32)

10 second rule goes for most things though i clean the floors twice a day!!!,
Youngest dd used to put things on the floor before eating as it "makes them taste better???" def gets that from her dad!!
