I am trying to get small boxes sent over from China (near Shanghai) to my place in London. Can't find any where on the net which would do this for a reasonable cost.

The max weight will be 4kg with dimensions around: 68 * 33 * 8 (cm)

Any idea folks? Many thanks in advance

    Try www.interparcel.com
but i think however you try it will cost a lot.
Any advice I give on these forums is my own opinion only, and is what I would do in your situation or, what I have done in the past, please do not slate me for offering what I see as "sound" advice.
    Thanks

    Where did you get £35?
So you have x no. of boxes of those dimensions to import? Or you have one parcel in which you are importing small boxes?
The way you posted, it could be either.
  • any tips on where to go with the following:

Want to send some documents from the UK to Brazil. -or, have some documents sent to me in Brazil from the UK

As such it'll weigh very little (0.5 kg?) and be very small. It's just that if the documents are lost, I'll be pretty screwed :?

As for "parcel monkey air express" and "interparcel express" do they just use whoever? (sort of like how Hot Wire hide the names of hotels you use?)

I don't particularly trust the Brazilian postal system (let alone customs, but can't get around that) so a courier would be great. If I used DHL, Fedex or some such, could I arrange to collect the package from their local office rather than have it delivered to my house?

I need to ship a (combi) microwave oven from London to Scotland. It's heavy (packed weight around 24kg) and dimensions are 64x54x36cm.

When I look at the restricted items lists for couriers they seem to rule out microwaves, or white goods. Any suggestions who I could use?

    Thanks

    Hi
I have sent loads of microwaves via couriers, i think the term "white goods" is ment more at w/machines, ovens, fridges ect.

You could try gwizz or interparcel
    edit or dispatchhub

I'd think the cheapest reliable service for that would be Nightfreight on ParcelMonkey, as they specialise in big/bulky stuff and don't have so many heavy handed mechanical sorting lines etc. They're only £7.89 + VAT. Please remember insurance and fragile stickers are no substitute for poor packaging. Insurance companies usually won't pay unless they are happy that the item could have been dropped from 1 metre without breaking.

Thanks for the advice. Opted for gwizz UPS next day service. £7.89+VAT+ £1.75 compensation cover = £11.22
  • Hi
I am new to this (-: and would appreciate any help/advice.

I need to send a parcel to France. It weighs 6kg and dimensions are 32x42x31. Need about £100 insurance.

I have looked at various couriers mentioned in this thread, but cannot make a decision who to trust the parcel with. I would prefer to drop it off rather than wait in with it and I am in Derbyshire.

    Thanks

Hi, only just seen this thread, I actually posted a question on the main board this morning but no replies yet so will try on here. I've been using Collect+ via Parcel2go which when I put in the weight and dimensions sometimes offers me collect+ £3.33 (ex vat), the first time I used it I queried the word jiffy on my postage label with live help and they said it didn't mean anything and my box was fine. I've since sent several boxes using this service. However on Collect+ website I now see that this is supposed to be a jiffy bag service only! Problem is Parcel2go doesn't give me a different collect+ option just this jiffy service if my box is below 2kg. If I change it to over 2kg then the Collect+ standard size box service does come up. So am I supposed to be sending my below 2kg parcels by the standard box rate, if so how exactly do I get the option to come up, other than lying about the weight and inputting over 2kg I can't get Parcel2go to display it. Or is it ok to send boxes via the jiffy service after all? Very confused and rather worried as I've got a couple of boxes booked already as jiffys!!
