Their web site.Comparison sites.
It ain't rocket science.
(4.925p - 3.402p) * 6000 / 12 = £7.61 per month.0 -

She's wrong again. Ebico charge no standing-charge. Their unit prices are not vastly inflated either to compensate for this.0

Rot again. They do not charge a DAILY standing charge. They do have standing charges that are paid for from an UNLIMITED number of units charged at the higher rate Tier 1 price.mattcanary wrote: »Their unit prices are not vastly inflated either to compensate for this.
You may think a 40% premium is 'not vastly inflated'. Others may have a different opinion.0 -

I am on prepay and would like to hear both please.
My weekly standing charge is £3 and that to me seems a lot?
TIA
that is high, equates to £36 on a quarterly bill so you will be paying nearly £40 a quarter in the summer when you using next to nothing.
I pay 13.36p a day which per quarter is around £12
so £4 a month £1 a week.
if you want to compare unit price also mine is 3.17p unit0 -
Price comparison sites are always worth a try.
I am with Ebico and generally save £££. I like the GAS rate as I use very little in the Summer. Elec rate is borderline.
I was looking for a social tariff BUT they are so complicated to work out with tiers and standing charges! Some you get the right rate at the beginning, get a regular cheque rebate or when I was with EDF it was annually via the Post Office.0 -
Kim, shut up. You haven't got a clue. Ebico's prices are cheaper than the vast majority of other companies' non DD, paper-billing based prices (at least for me). And they charge the same price per every unit used, not a HIGHER unit price for the first units used each quarter and NO STANDING CHARGE0

However EVERY company builds in a charge to cover overheads which as Kim rightly points out includes things such as administration and standing charges. With Ebico they are spread out across every unit of gas consumed.
At the end of the day standing charges are irrelevant, the only important thing is the total cost for the year.0 -
Ebico use a straightforward billing system, do not charge you a standing charge for using no electric or gas, do not offer discounts for paying by DD or via paperless billing and their price per unit is lower than virtually every other company for their comparable tariffs.
You also don't have to hold on the phone for ages before you get through to someone, ifyou have a query. Their call-centre is based in the UK.
That is why I am with them for both electric and gas.0 -
I think its fair to say electric companies deliberatly make things complicated to understand or at least try to.
After posting my unit price on here I decided I want to compare it to what other companies charge.
First I googled and tried to see if there was a simple unit price comparison list, seems there is not.
Then I tried a few price comparison sites, for some silly reason they want me to tell them who I am with and what sort of usage I have had for the past year before they can reveal prices to me.
Then I tried npower's own site, initially on their price page I had the same rubbish as the price comparison site's where they were asking what I use and who I am with etc. before revealing the much secreted unit price, however in the end I did find a link where I only needed to enter my postcode and confirmed npower charge significantly more then I pay. However after all this work I lost the motivation to check the other companies such as british gas and eon. I almost laughed as well when I seen npower list over 40 different packages they have on my screen.0
