must of been a very low powered boy racer car, 1st gear in most diesels is worthless0 -

if I were you stay away from the mondeo's, and octavia's , you want more astra/focus/A3 size car. (the VRs Octavia isn't even fast!)0

True, but than there isn't anything stopping the OP getting a petrol and not driving it like a clown all the time, i still believe a powerful petrol car is more fun to drive. Ive never felt completley safe over taking in a diesel, i like the instant response of a petrol, but hey ho just my opinion:D0 -
I assume by your quote you are about 22/23?
or a little bit older in a high risk area?
Be aware that most of the major insurance companies don't like modifications (re-map) and if they did, would unlikely consider it if you are under 25.
£6K for a 140 Audi or Golf is a big ask.
I have already got some quotes with the remap declared and they are coming in around the £800-900 mark.
I have seen some 140 Golfs/Audi within my budget on Autotrader."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

Hmm Astra could be a possibility....think there is a 170bhp model..I do like the look of the Astra but the interior looks flimsy."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

An Octavia is an astra/focus/A3 sized car. Since when has a car that dioes 0-60 in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 149 mph been slow? The OP is looking for a warm/hot hatch, the Octavia is certainly a warm hatch if not a hot hatch. It's my problem, it's my problem

No an Octavia is a Mondeo/vectra/A4 size car, after driving a VRs they feel heavy and are easily beaten off the line by a smaller cars. I certainly had no trouble in my 2.2 Astra pullin away from one ( on a private track of course)0
