Can you access the router's system log and post it here. If the 'i' isn't on it generally means that authentication process did not go through properly. This is shown in the router's system log0

Hi k314
How do I access the log to post it? I ve done the repair but it says its connected
Thanks0 -
When you power up the router the internet light should initially flash orange, steady orange indicates its synchronised with the exchange which should change to solid green when logged on to your ISP.
If there is no activity at all the router may be faulty, if it trys and fails to log on investigate the lead from the phone socket to the router. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
On my Netgear DG834PN (I assume the DG834GT is accessed in the same manner) go the the left hand side. I assume you have logged on using the browser. You should see 'Security'. Under Security there should be a 'Logs'. Click that and a Log window should appear on the right hand side of your browser.
Underneath the Log window is a line of text saying 'Include in Log'. Make sure that 'Router operation (start up, get time etc)' is clicked.
Refresh the log and post the results.0 -
For tiscali you need to have entered all these settings
http://www.tiscali.co.uk/help/broadband/router_settings.html
was this done, also please confirm where you are seeing you are 'connected'...
As per my earlier post are you SURE you are looking at your router settings and not just your wireless on your PC (which will happily connect TO the router but if your router isn;t connected to the outside world you won;t get the internet)0 -
