My netgear router would not connect to the internet today, so I pressed the reset button on it, it then connected straight away although it is now unsecured but no web pages will load, it says server cannot be found.
Could someone please offer some advice as to what I need to do.
Many thanks
Karen

If you have pressed the re-set button it will have forgotten your service provider details.
open up IE and enter 192.168.0.1 in the address bar. You will then have to go through the setup to fill in all your details in order to get a connection.
If it asks for a login/password it is usually admin and password or admin and admin0 -
If its unsecured but no pages loading then that points to a possible problem with the net thats going into your house
Which service provider do you have?
If virgin then switch everything off and power up the modem. Wait till it settles/ The same with the router. Then finally power up the computer.
If anything else then its probably a built in modem and router so switch everything off. Power up the router and wait. Then power up the computer.
Assuming it then works you need to log into the router (We need a make and model to help), and change the security settings:idea:0 -

Pressing the reset button momentarily will simply reboot the router, it should retain user settings.
Holding the button down for 10 seconds or so will return it to its factory settings. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I have entered all the details again, it is showing as connected and secured but the i light on the router isnt on and I cant connect to any web pages?

Try restarting your PC. The IP that the router has given it may have changed hence the page not found. Failing that not sure if site allows PM me
Good luck

Can you view the router setup screens via your browser?
Does it say connected ok on the router setup screens (should be some kind of 'status' info somewhere, I am NOT asking about you being connected to your router wirelesssly, i'm asking if your router is talking to the outside world).
If yes, best things to try are closing/reopening browser windows, clearing cookies/offline files and using the 'repair' option when you right click on the wifi symbol in the lower right task bar.
If no, or you're looking anywhere other than the router itself to check if its connected to the outside world you probably have one of the modem settings not set correctly in your router/modem.0 -
The i with a wavy line under it light thats normally on when you are connected,
