Getting out of my comfort zone

Have managed to get all the bath towels done at the launderette. It seems like every time I go they charge more. Now the dryer is minimum 50p and £1 didn't get them dry enough.
Cooking roast chicken for tea. Works out cheap really as will get today's meal, then have some for chicken pasta, sandwiches, and maybe some left for curry. And of course I can make stock too.
Still ploughing through the ironing, I'm sure it breeds, if you leave 2 t-shirts overnight.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Where did the days go?
Feeling a bit run down, a few weeks ago, I had a cold sore that lasted for 3 or 4 weeks, just never actually went away; now have got an eye infection.
I also need to seriously tackle my weight gain. In October I bought 2 new tops and a pair of trousers for a job interview. At the time, one of the tops was loose, and the trousers had a belt. Now neither of the tops fit and the trousers are uncomfortable. I am not eating any more than I used to, but probably exercise less and maybe its an age thing too. Looking at what DT has lost, albeit on a special controlled diet, I really should make more of an effort. I used to walk a few miles a day, and went to the gym; the gym is no longer on my route to work and so its takes an extra effort. May look at transferring membership to another town or something, rather than the 20 mile detour.
On a more positive note, I made 2 calendars yesterday, and also did a small cross stitched motto, so a start made on Christmas stuff. Just need to find a cheap place for coasters and the like to put the cross stitch in.
I also got a call last night from one of the office staff at Provident - I had to sign for the 79p overpayment I made on my account. It probably cost them more to pay her petrol to come out with the money.
Hope the weather's better elsewhere in the country - have a good day.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

That sounds nasty.

20 miles is too much of a detour! And you know, maybe exercising would help with the rundown-ness :grouphug:

I really admire that! I love the way that people use their craft skills to produce HM gifts....

Way, way more! Thats crazy.

hmmm. Sky here is somewhere between grey and very light blue :rotfl:not brilliant, but at least not dreadful.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks KC - I can use my gym membership at any of the gyms in the franchise, but need to work out which is best and then actually start going again. I did enjoy it when I went. Also, where I worked previously, there was a group of us all around the same age, who walked each lunchtime, only a few miles but it all helped.
On the craft stuff, I used to do loads more, but my eyesight isn't good enough for embroidery any more; or at least I get fed up swapping my glasses over
but I have got back into card making, thanks SH - and will so some bits and bobs for stocking fillers. Most people get at least one HM gift, my sister is lucky if she gets anything bought for her! The nephews are too old now to appreciate HM stuff, except for sweets, so need to practice fudge making.
Have had one of those days when really busy, but actually got nothing done. Started with a list of 15 items and ended with a list of over 20, mainly because managers are in crisis management mode, so come out of meetings and immediately change all the priorities round. Annoying.
I may ring the agency tomorrow to see if they have heard anything, as I'm not sure when budget meeting is.
Boring tea, chicken and pasta, with sort of tomato sauce and peppers.
Off for a trundle round the diaries before cooking though.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Grr sometimes you just can't win. DS doesn't like pasta so I bought some burgers for him to cook for himself; proper stuff from the butchers. What happens, 'they're ok mum but I prefer the ones you normally get' -- normal ones are from Iceland.
Have got the last of the chicken and pasta for lunch tomorrow, and have got the big pan out making stock.
I've also taken a few things out of the freezer, its starting to look emptier now.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Morning
eye infection is a bit better today, think it was probably a stye, as it was really sore last night and I pulled out an eyelash, which seems to have done the trick. (probably TMI) Will take spray stuff to work.
Lunch today is remains of chicken pasta. Also need to take library books back and look for audio books.
Other than parking money, haven't spent anything so far this week. That will probably change today.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Sometimes its all about keeping going, isn't it - hope today goes well, just remember to take a few minutes for yourself, even its just standing next to a tree and breathing deep

Came to a whopping great grinding halt yesterday
I haven't been to see Mum for a while, one thing and another, and every time I've spoken to her she has sounded tired. She always has a reason.
Anyway last night DS had to go into work for an hour to a meeting, so thought I'd take the chance and call in on her as its sort of in the area. She was really breathless, but said she'd been asleep and woken with a start. Okay..... then after 10 minutes of sitting down chatting, she was still breathless and having to use inhaler. So I called the doctor.
She has already had 3 heart attacks, triple heart bypass, a few attacks of pneumonia, so understandably I was worried. She, on the other hand, was frightened but didn't tell any of us in case we were worried.
She apparently has a leaky heart valve, which at the moment is being treated with steroids and anti-biotics while she waits for a specialist appointment. She's been told if she's no better by this time tomorrow, to go to Casualty.
So was there till late last night, called in on way to work this morning, and am about to go back with some dinners rescued from my overflowing freezer.
Catch up with everyone later.
P.S have a garbled message from agency about putting together some mind maps on how I will approach the task at the new contract.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
