Getting out of my comfort zone

I've always frozen plain rice, and the occasional remaindered takeaway fried rice, but just because some of the stuff in it has previously been frozen.
Ah well it can't actually kill me.
I've got to learn to label stuff better too. Various red sauces that have some sort of mince in them, only identifed when they finally defrost.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Ah well, gives a lovely element of surprise to mealtimes :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Saw that AF had cola on offer so ordered some for DS as even with delivery it was still lots cheaper than I can get it even in H&B. Ordered some savoury rice as well, just because they had some and I love rice, but either I have misread the info or someone in the warehouse has mad a BIG mistake. Ordered 5 for 95p and got 5 CASES for 95p, so 60 packets!!
Have still got loads of soya mince and cous cous from last order, waiting to go in cupboard under stairs.
Spent most of yesterday trying to fix computer, now happily upgraded to latest Firefox and working really well.
Money stuff:-
Wages rubbish this week, so on a really tight budget of £30, but got £4 off mum for Kenco refill packs I got for her when they were on offer in Mr A and don't need to buy DS any cola so should be ok.
Have made birthday card for sister, and am going to refill the sweetie jar I got her for Christmas, as well as giving her a cross stitch fridge magnet and bath stuff. All tarted up with my bargain cellophane stuff from Christmas.
Nephew still hasn't cashed the cheque I sent him 2 weeks ago for his 18th, so will have to speak to his Mum and make sure a) he received it and b) he is going to pay it in some time soon, before I forget and spend the money.
Will update sig over weekend as will be paying Provident so another big chunk gone, and will check Egg account as that is looking better now.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi Gill, hope you're well
I agree re: Amazon. The books I have sold well on there are either text books or self-help type books (of which I had many). I did get my fingers burnt sending things abroad once or twice - but will only post to UK now.
I've yet to try Greenmetropolis, but I think that might be better for novels or more popular books..... Let us know how you get on.
PS, just had prawn and pea risotto0 -
I really should get round to selling stuff.....

Been a bad couple of days really.
Brother came round and we were chatting a bit about his soon to be ex wife and her attitude to the house etc. and although I love him, I can see her side too. He mentioned that he thought her family were giving her bullets to fire, and my first thought was that if Dad were still alive, and it was me or my sister, then he would do the same. Then I just fell apart as yet again, it hit me with a sledgehammer that I miss him so much. My poor brother didn't know what to do with me!
So have spent the weekend alternately crying, then having bursts of activity.
On the plus side, I have not sought refuge in chocolate or shopping, on the minus side, I let a friend talk me into going out yesterday and it wasn't the best move I've ever made.
So on the money front, I had a 'budget' of £30 and have only spent £15 so far, mainly because of mega buy from AF and having cupboards and freezer full of stuff. Today I will check properly, but only need to go to local shops for bits. Bought eggs yesterday, but have come down this morning to find that DS and mates made pancakes in the night, so only have 2 left.

I really do feel for you, I too miss my dad so much he was my rock, also have DS who doesn't have much thought about budgets and food continously helping himself, and he had my chocolate orange that me and my DH were looking forward too yesterday, (totally thoughtless) those chocolate fairies again??
hope you have a better day.

Don't know why it suddenly hit me. Hardly a day goes by and I don't think about him, but not enough to get upset.
My DS isn't bad about food, and because he pays for a lot of it that's fine, but his problem is that normally he works nights, so when he's at home at night he gets bored, so he eats. I also don't think he understands totally the concept of tidying up! He had put things away, but all the surfaces were covered in flour.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi gilli, sorry to hear you're feeling down. I know my mum still misses my Grampa every day and it's been over two years now. I still haven't been to the grave since the burial and can't really face it yet.
Hope you're feeling a bit better. Have a dodgy hug. :grouphug:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
