Afternoon all
I'm at work so haven't had chance to read all of thread. V busy day as I have a new team of teens starting my course. 15 of them, all very shy, but they will be talkative soon enough!
Not much OS planned for day. I have celery soup that I batch cooked yesterday for dinner tonight.
Car is in for small bit of work which will cost me around £100. Annoyed that I had to drive to work (garage is behind where I work) as it's a beautiful day here. Cold but sunny.
Have good day all.

jayward - thank you! I will try them out later in the week
Cranky - hugs for you and george
Hester - good luck for today
valk-scot - well done on your bargains
Well, I'm back in sunny oxfordshire after a weekend back in Kent - the break was nice, but I do run out of things to do quite quickly. I'm staying with friends for the rest of the week - until OH gets back to sort out his mess. That should ease the stress a little bit. I was late for work (again) but my boss just laughed, as noone else was in when arrived anyway (8.30 am) - and I had told him I would be later than normal. I don't have fixed working hours, so can come and go as I please, but i always feel I've wasted the day if I'm in after 7am.
Today has been pretty unproductive though so far, I've had a fight with the HPLC machine, relabelled all my buffer bottles and cleaned my bench space. I have some virus to harvest after lunch and I have to go the building society to get my passbook replaced - which I have lost (again).
I have some computer games to ebay later on. I don't want to train my brain to remember what I had for breakfast last week, so that's first on the listIf I get round to it of course. OH is back thursday.
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

Thanks for all the thoughts. I have to say it was horrific and I hope I never have to go to a child's funeral again. His mum coped well-I don't think I could have done it.
I just want to get dd from school and give her a big cuddle, despite her drawing in biro on the sofa last night. I think because I'm so grateful to have her she might get her punishment of no childrens tv for a week reduced a little.July grocery- 24.40/220. NSD-1/3.

Afternoon all.
First and foremost, ((((HUGS)))) for Cranky, Bargainbird, Curly and anyone else who wants/needs one today.
Now, would someone please be kind enough to give me a (gentle) boot up the bum? I have a whole load of tasks that want doing, and I'm feeling overwhelmed, with the result that I'm sort of in stasis, unable to function at all.
I need to:- Clean the birdfeeders
- Make tablemats (thanks to the OS-er who suggested this use of offcut material from shortening curtains);)
- Make lavender bags
- Make a kaftan
- Design my Yule cards (assuming we're going to have a working postal system)
- Make candles
- Get on with my cross stitch picture
- Make a surround for the light switch in the [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] spare room
- Tidy the [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] spare room
- Sort out some books and stuff for the 2nd hand stall at the next Pagan moot
- Tidy the garden (in fairness, I need Mr LW to help with this as there's a lot I'm not able to do on my own now)
I'm worrying about this postal malarkey tbh, as I put my Blue Badge renewal in to the council a couple of weeks ago, and I'm scared that my replacement Blue Badge won't arrive before the post grinds to a halt.
Right, I'm now going to sit under the table and chew a slipper......:D:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Curly - A hug to you and your friend. I've been to a friends funeral of her little boy whom she had premature at 21 weeks. That was just so sad as he was buried in the little plot reserved for all the babies
Lamewolf - a gentle <kick> - why not cut the list into 4 and tackle it that way. Sometimes I find a big long list is very off putting but a shorter one is easier to face.
Bargainbird - I feel for you and the family xx

Walked all the way up to local shops to the bank, called in at the park up there for DS and walked back and I am shattered. Mind you I bumped into a friend and also got chatting to another mum whilst walking back and these are the things I would have missed had I used the car
Is lovely and sunny though so am making use of it to dry my washing. Got a large chicken in the oven so will pick that to pieces later.
Day has gone so quick but seem to have achieved so little
Anyway DD will be waking up from her nap soon (well not too soon I hope) so had better go hang the washing out whilst I can.
Got some things I want to Ebay so might go and take some pics of those and list them later (eek never done that before - hope it's not too difficult!)
Have a pleasant afternoon everyone.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Afternoon all
Thanks for all the good wishes, hearing went ok, I'll know in 5 days if they are prepared to take it further.
Absolute chaos at work, new machine arrived before old machine removed, new machine too big to go through door, oopps, wrong new machine delivered, the exchange was taking place just as I left tonight.
I'm going to put my feet up with a cuppa.
Hugs Hester

I have a "decision jar" of all those little jobs I need to do. I write them on little bits of paper, fold them up and put them in the jar. That way, when I'm bored I pull one out and I have to do the one job. It only works for those nagging things that don't actually have to be done.

I did get started on the table mats; I've got the "shell" of them sewn up, I now have to trim the wadding to size, insert it and finish off the "open" side; but my back has started playing up enough for me to take a dose of Oramorph, so I'm going to put it aside for today.:o After all, it's not supposed to be a penance, right?;)
Luckily for me, I don't need to cook tonight; I made quiche yesterday as we had some cream that needed using, and we have the 2nd half of that for dins.
I'll try for a little of the cross stitch later, unless Mr LW has other ideas for this evening.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon everyone :hello:
Haven't been on for a few days as I've been busy and OS has taken a back seat.
Was in the office all day today so now have a splitting headache and a house to tidy.
Tea will be sausage, chips and beans and I want to make a chilli in the SC for tommorrow night so I can do something nice with the girls all day tommorrow. We went to the forest this afternoon and collected a huge bowl of conkers for the living room.
Have just cleaned out the chickens, emptied the DW and hung out a load of washing and OH is about to light the fire.
Glad today went well Hester. Fingers crossed that it all works out.
Sorry about your friend Diva. I was on Zoladex a few years ago so feel free to ask anything you like.
Glad you are being looked after Cranky. xxx
Sorry you had to go through that Curly. So very sad. xxx
Take care
