PC World will usually take these back if it turns out that it is the line and you don't need it... I've done it plenty of times. But if you have a broadband modem rather than a router with your contract its worth the investment. They are MUCH better, and it's much easier to diagnose faults!

Yes, thanks Greenbee. I got a Belkin Broadband modem+router (N+) to replace the Belkin 'G' we had before. With DH having an office a short distance away from the house we found the freebie BT Homehub things never had the range we needed for us to share the signal.

Anyhow - BT *were* right: not the line itself, but the router; and we'll all benefit from the stronger signal now.

I really think we need to do something about DH's office though ....It was truly appalling. Another family HH Blitz this weekend????

Can't seem to get warm tonight: sat over in DH's unheated office for hours trying to sort out his remote office system, and got really chilled. Am about to eat fish pie, which should help!

Been trying to catch up, but have only managed to skim-read....get the impression that it's been a bad day for many, so here are some HUGE HUGS for everyone who needs one (and even if you don't!).

I've had a reasonably good day - managed to paper the wall around the soil stack area. It was just a small area below the dado rail, 4 pieces of lining paper in total. After waiting a year to get my backside in gear enough to do it, the job took a total of 1 hour....yep, 1 hour. If I have to name my biggest flaw it's obviously procrastination....after that huge effort(!) my hallway now looks very pretty (does need a coat of paint now). I've got the skirting boards to attach, but need to borrow my dad's mitre block tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be another year before I manage to stick those on...!

Dailies done, and levels one and two of today's list.

And, again, I'm going to sit and knit for an hour once the children are in bed. I'm doing an aran coat/jacket for DD, so need to finish it before the cold weather comes in. Pattern is quite complicated, but it's keeping my brain active!

Anyway, have a great evening all, see you tomorrow.
    Take care

Can't claim a star for the bedroom just yet, but I'm hoping tomorrow I will be able to - I got distracted by gin at NN's

Dusty - big hugs to you and everyone involved re that loss - you have every right to feel sad

    Lady-L
    - hope the visualisation vibes continue to buoy you and we need you here to post everyday - even if you say you just put a cup on the draining board, you can claim you've flown ;)

loubout - well done on your walking to Morrisons for your few bits. You've saved some petrol and wear and tear AND you've had some exercise at the same time. WTG :T

Mudders - that's top news about DS being home still AND the support network you have there. That's really great! I'm sure 'distraction' techniques will be helpful (I don't mean to sound patronising or crass on that but you know what I mean - lying in bed all day in a hospital ward is not half as nice as being either home or resting at the homes of friends). Maybe you could video the floppy dance so we could all practise it!

Ishtar - well done on your wallpapering now you know how quick that bit was you'll sail through the skirting boards

I’ve done some flying since I was here last runblissysmile.gif

·2 loads of washing done and line dried, washing 1 load now to hang out tomorrow
    ·Decluttered the landing
·2 black bags of rubbish sorted out and out for dustcart
·About a dozen things sorted and freecycled
·Aunty fed and made comfortable for the night. She said today how much she enjoyed having me sit down and eat my lunch with her so will try to do that more often, it must seem to her that we’re always dashing in and dashing out again. I do enjoy her company so it won't be any hardship

I have the whole day here tomorrow and my mission - should I choose to accept it :D - will be to assemble some flatpack because I've realised there’s no point trying to tidy anything else until that’s done!

I missed the visualisation, sorry, but will try to keep up with the thread in future :o so I don’t miss the next one!

LL and Toots – you are both such an inspiration!
Pigpen – lots of good vibes for your aunty tomorrow

Mudders and your DS – good vibes coming your way too

Fedup – hang in there, it will get better honestly

and hugs to anyone else who needs one thsmiley_huggroup.gif
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

Thanks everyone for being here today :A I don't know how I got through today really and this morning is a complete blank.

I can't say I feel any better really, however the tears have subsided for a while. Still staggering about in a daze most of the time, however managed a small tea of 1 poached egg and a toasted muffin.

Don't know how long this evening will feel. Think I will go to bed in a while and have an early night

My skin looked dreadful and the rough patches of skin and blisters under my eyes didn't help. Discovered a Decleor Hydrating Face Mask I had forgotten about and so far I have 3 layers on as it keeps disappearing and the only thing I can bear to put near the skin on my eyes in 100% Shea Butter. Here's hopng they work

Fedup, my love, have you thought about forgetting all those lotions and potions and just letting your skin heal naturally? I know with my conjunctivitis stuff I've had this week, the antihistamines didn't even make a dent in it.

I stopped using the Optrex stuff Monday because I wasn't sure it was actually helping or just spreading the infection around. And it's actually clearing up all by itself - albeit slowly. I have put pride aside this week and just explained when, every so often, I've had to stop and wipe away some gunge that I have a slight medical problem but it is getting better....

Rose - there was a thread yesterday about bullying on OS and one of the posters inferred that PenPen was one of them!! Cheeky mare
I can't believe it! Penny is one of the least likely people to bully! She has a tough job to do but does it very well in my opinion, she's always fair and does her best. I hope she comes back, she's very much missed already.

Suppose I should head off to sit in the traffic on the M3
I forgot to say, but as we drove on the M3 past where you live on Friday night I waved in your general direction and said: "hello Greenbee." DH looked at me like I'd gone mad. I then spent the next ten minutes brooding on the fact that I desperately needed the loo and if only I had your phone number or address I could have stopped off at your house!

Pigpen, hope your auntie is ok

Dusty that’s really sad news, will be thinking of his family tonight

Lady Liberty, glad to hear you sounding a bit more positive today, keep going babe, you can get there. I was telling mum about you being in so much pain and she wondered what kind of pain relief you are getting and if you need to ask for it to be adjusted so it helps more?

Toots, I was looking at your numbers of which jobs you have done – if you do 45 next then you will have a good run of joined up numbers IYSWIM!

Mudbath, your boy sounds amazing, what a trouper! How old is he? Glad he’s able to be at home and see his mates and stuff

Hugs Lo-Lo, sorry to hear you’ve been feeling under the weather. I suffer more in the winter too, have had to dig out my lightbox and start using it

I've not really done any flying, just a bit of tidying up and putting used dishes in the sink, but wanted to come on to tell you that DH was really complimentary about the food I cooked for dinner! He hardly ever comments unless I ask if he likes it, and after his first mouthful he was complimenting me! Then someone phoned up and DH told him all about the nice dinner he was eating! I was well chuffed! :D
