Hmm no flying today unless flying up and down the motorway counts!!

I have been to my auntie's funeral which, with a crash on the M42, meant 3 and a half hours drive there (usually 2) and then, due to the time of day, the same on the way back ho hum nice to be home.

I did clean through downstairs yesterday and cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom on Saturday so I guess that counts as flying.......

off to bed now I think
    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last
  • Just finished helping DS1 with his homework.
I am really concerned about the lack of progression in his spelling and handwriting. I don't really want to mention dyslexia as a possiblity in front of him because I don't want him to use it as an excuse not to do his best. However, comparing his work to his twin brother, there is a marked difference which gives me cause for concern.
The school are giving him some general extra help once a week before school and whilst I don't want to pile lots of extra work in him after school I am worried he will struggle in his SATS because of his poor presentation. The frustrating thing is that he has fantastic ideas when it come to creative writing, but getting them down on paper is a knightmare.

I have been trying to help him with his handwriting at home, but as I am a lefty with rather Victorian looking spider scrawl, I am probably not the best person for the job!

With his spelling, I have decided to revisit the phoneme sounds he learnt in y2 and 3 as he seems to have forgotten a lot of them. We are going to have a look at a couple each night.

Right, better get the packs and supper done before 9
Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j

    Job number one..

Sew a big draught snake for EVERY door!!!!!!!!!
I've been planning for ages to make one from the sleeves of a gorgeous corderouy coat that I loved but is a bit worse for wear now. Apparently you don't even need to sew the ends up, you just tie ribbon round the end like a cracker. Will need to sew the sleeves together tho and stuff with old tights and socks

Won't be about tomorrow morning, got to drive my mum to homeopath. At the moment I feel completely drained of energy, I think I'm fighting of DH's cold (he's now lost his voice) so will see if I'm up to any flying after all that.

Love and hugs to all poorlies and fedups

  • Rosepink in the Telegraph's "Stella" magazine they had a knitted cushion cover for £60. You could go into business. What about knitting corsages and selling them at market, or in a frou-frou shop?

have got fire lit in the way of flying...
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x

wow, that sounds fab! It takes me ages to knit them tho, but I could build up my stock and then have a market stall once or twice a year. What a great plan! Thanks!
