fedupandskint - big hugs love - yes it hurts, yes you're bereaved and you will feel like that for a while but eventually you'll wake up one morning to find a better day has dawned. Take it one day at a time love - don't forget we're here to listen if you need to vent xx

Dusty and Toots - the left eye is fine, the right eye is still a bit swollen. At the bottom of the eye socket, just under where the shadow of bags sit, on the top of the cheekbone, there's still a swelling, and on the top lid too. It's also v. itchy this evening. I have bathed it with optrex and am refusing to itch it. Anyone any ideas on how to reduce the swelling?

And Toots, you're right, the Uni thing may well lead to more work - it will also look good on my CV. I'm off there tomorrow lunchtime for a few hours so we'll see what transpires...

BB is going a little mental at the moment. She's in season so is not allowed to go out far - and certainly not off the lead !

My celery and onion cheese and jackets are in the oven. I shall serve myself up shortly :)

DS was discharged yesterday only to be readmitted 6 hours later. They don't know what the pain is....the good news is they say it's not life threatening. However, this means they're sending him to a pain clinic to cope with the pain as opposed to sorting out what it is. I'm so angry and feel i'm letting him down because I can't help him and he keeps suffering from these acute pain attacks for up to 6 hours. One nurse even suggested he's putting it on. If you could see him when he's in pain you'd know he's not putting it on.

Mudders, my love, if I could wave a magic wand, I would. You poor things - I hope and pray that they'll find out what the problem is PDQ and then sort it xxxx

Thanks for all the hugs and thoughts.

I am thinking about changing my user name to something either more positive or unrelated and that name gets me down, it reminds me of how I felt at the point I joined the site.

New one to me - will have a further look.

Yes we do Samaritans Purse one through our church and school (a church school). But we also support the Genesis Project in Sheffield - which aims to allow poorer families to buy presents for their children at lower costs that they can afford. The toys etc are all donated.

Anyway must go - school run time

    Moam
I dont want to upset people on here as I really like being a fellow fly lady but I have a question- where does the money go to that the poorer families pay for the donated presents?

pigpen you are quite right, and not ranting, its common sense. There's an ancient history of religion and charity, and until the government fulfils it's responsibilities fully ( and we pay for that) then there's no palatable alternative.
I dont think you have to be religious just to be charitable and to me christmas is about being with my loved ones and appreciating how fortunate I am to live where I do in the world, how fortunate I am to be living without fear for my life and that of my family.
