Hi folks, hope you're all having a nice Sunday!

Feel justified in coming on here today as I've actually been at home and done something!

Leftover lasagne from yesterday portioned & frozen together with slow cooked stew.

Lamb steaks for dinner with HG potatoes normande, Y/S broccoli, leeks & HG runner beans.

Last of HG spuds but they've been nice while they lasted.

Leftover broccoli and leeks frozen with cheese sauce. Enough for 3 double portions so not bad for 20p!!

Fruit cobbler and custard for afters but too full to eat it at mo!!

I wish I could afford to retire as I'm sure we spend more money on food when I work. I'm trying not to waste anything at the moment but my chest freezer's full to bursting point!

Also planted some bulbs in the garden and in some tubs - weather here been quite nice.

My thoughts are still with you Cranky and George. I must admit I also thought of Smokey when I heard Jayne's awful news. Hope you are OK Smokey.

    Well hugs to everyone!

    TTFN

DD seems a bit better in herself for having had a good nap. I think it must give her some pain so I think the calpol will be in force a bit.
I am really glad it's not broken but the crunch in her wrist felt awful. I will try not to make myself feel bad about it for too long :o

Bitsy I know how you must feel. When DS1 (25 now) came home from school aged 10 with a painful wrist I felt it and then uttered the immortal words "Can you bend it?" It seems he couldn't and ended up in surgery having it set under anaesthetic!! :o

As you can imagine I have never been allowed to forget this and the family are always teasing me about it shouting "Can you bend it"!!

He's grown up to be a big strapping lad and no lasting damage was done.

Take care & give your little one a hug from me.

    Evening Everyone

A late one for me today, don't know where the day went!

Enjoyed my evening at my friends she had made hm chilli with rice and roasted new potatoes with mustard(delicious). One of the other girls partners had made us a HM banoffee pie (yum) - now need to cut back a bit. Took ds to park this afternoon so he could get rid of some energy, but he is still going strong now:confused:.

Made a rice pudding in my sc today, which has all gone. Have tidied round the house and got a load of surplus toys and books, dont know whether to try a carboot or not. Have cleaned bathroom and kitchen yet again.

NPM - the farm sounded lovely, glad you had a nice time.
Thriftlady - glad you are feeling better
Hester - good luck for tomorrow
Pippa - the penguins and hedgehog are lovely.:T
Tiredmum - hope you get the school situation sorted.
Bitsy - glad that your dd didnt break anything and hope she is feeling better soon.
Ladyshopper - hope the appeal goes well.
Cranky & George - thinking of you.

Hope you have all had a nice day.

.... a pair of mittens for winter(I have reynauds syndrome and its agony for my hands) I hope this pair will help - I've tried all sortd of gloves....

Have you tried using silk liners? I got mine from a local ski-shop. They get snagged easily, but make a difference when trying to keep fingers warm... I think you can get silk sock liners too.
...I can't see me getting much OS done as I'm far too stressed about tomorrow.

Good luck with your meeting tomorrow.

Not much to report - had a not-very OS drive up from Cardiff....wanted to get home to watch the rugby, so was driving at the limits of my little car's capabilities (and using a bit too much fuel :o) but got there in just about 4.5 hours (including a quick toilet stop!) only 10 minutes after kick-off. Wouldn't really have mattered if I had taken my time - the best bit for us was the last 10 minutes anyway!

Bitsy - don't be hard on yourself; we've all been there. Accidents will happen - you can't foresee them or prevent them. Hope DD is not feeling too sore.

Hester - good luck for tomorrow.

no I havent tried them Floss but I have tried a thin pair of gloves inside a thicker pair but it made no difference. I do have some handwarmers though and these are quite good and should be easier to use inside mittens.

    Hi everyone

As my post got moved to theis thread the other day I thought I'd post directly on here and also intoduce myself...

I'm a 25 year old first time mum who returns back to work tomorrow (boo!!) after a year off. I've been on this website for ages and I love it, I've only recently moved over to the OS side and began batch cooking as I wanted to ensure that DS has a healthy diet (I had an extremely bad diet but I'm slowly getting better!!!)

So today in preperation for my return to work I batch cooked the following

    2 x Chicken Casseroles
    2 x Coq au Vin
    2 x Bolognese
    3 x Cottage Pie
    2 x Corned Beef Hash
    1 x Lasagne
2 x Cottage Pie for DS
    1 x Bolognese for DS
    Microwave Fudge - yummy!!

Just worked out how much it all cost (food only not electricity) and it comes in at about £14!!! :j:j:j I use to spend that on one takeaway and there is 12 meals there!!
