Not Tiny, Not Courageous, but definitely in debt

So food wise last night I was very naughty, what with wine and Ferrero Rocher. But, today is a new day and I am going to be good.
Moneywise, yesterday was a spend day as I ordered a gig ticket (£15) but that was all. No spending today, I'm avoiding the grabbit forum and HDUK like the plague. No alcohol today either, as tomorrow is a work day.
Also moneywise, one of the phones that I originally put on ebay generally goes for £30-£50, but envirophone offer £45 so I've taken it off ebay and am awaiting the envirophone envelope instead. Much less hassle. 2 bids and lots of watchers on the other stuff. Fingers crossed!
Today, I shall make up a big vat of chicken soup which will be lunch for the week for me (and I shall sort some packet things that will be lunch for OH). Ironing awaits (oh joy) and lots of football on the TV.0 -
I am now up to 10 for NSDs and AFDs. Busy day at work means less time for snacking on rubbish which is always good. Had some lovely home made adzuki bean burgers for tea which I shall definitely be making again. Money wise, I might have had to buy a ticket for the car park for one work visit today, but on the way in someone gave me a ticket that still had a couple of hours left - there is still kindness in the world, and am delighted that it resulted in a NSD! Will need to spend tomorrow as we're out of milk and bread.
The debenhams order I did got cancelled. Booo, but at very least there's some money not spent. It was stuff I wanted rather than needed, so I guess there's a lesson there.0 -
NSD and AFD 11! Never actually made it to the supermarket for essentials, so we've done without. There's enough other food in the house. It was accidental that I didn't go to the supermarket.
Tomorrow, I may go and have a nosy at the boots 75% sale. I love No7 Stuff, so hopefully I might be able to stock up.
Still all "I don't know about the gym/pool." The gym my friends go do doesn't have a pool, and swimming is the one thing I really want to do regularly.0 -
So now on 13 AFDs and 12 NSDs. Did hit the boots sale and got a few bargains, and also got some groceries from tesco on the way home. Payday is Tuesday. Got an email from envirophone to say the phone I sent has been accepted, that money will go straight into my bank on tuesday (and straight off the credit card). Also sold a few things on ebay earlier which I'm very pleased about. Two have paid so far, three more to go. I'd very much like them all to pay tonight (ha!) so I can get to the post office tomorrow, snow permitting.
It is snowing. It's settling on the main road but not ours, oddly. I hope it doesn't get too bad as I would like to go into work tomorrow - I've got stuff to do! Also got a gig to go to tomorrow night.
right, going to sit and do some surveys and watch TV.0 -
NSDs and AFDs are now 13 apiece. Payday Tuesday. Made about £100 on ebay so far, with a couple of things left to sell, £45 from envirophone due tomorrow. On a mission to get rid of as much stuff in the house as possible - I hate "stuff". Trying to get more ruthless with the wardrobe and equally wear a lot of the stuff in there that's "for best". I deserve best now.
Soup for work lunches is next on the list, and meal plan for the week. Then ironing, another search for things to ebay, and package the stuff that has sold and been paid for. Got a weekend away next weekend, so need to start packing for that (I tend to travel light but travelling light takes planning).0 -
Three more things listed on ebay, two packaged up to post tomorrow, along with a ticket for a gig I can no longer go to which I sold for face value to another fan. That money should hopefully be in my bank account tomorrow (transferred from paypal) so it can all go off the credit card.
Today was NSD and AFD so up to 14 now. Because people seem to be paying in dribs and drabs, this week will probably have a lot of low spend days as I get stuff posted out.0 -
Just sold some more stuff on ebay, buyer paid straight away (excellent) and paypal withdrawal into my account straight away. Have underestimated postage on 2 things but I guess I'll just take the hit.
Spent today at the post office and the pound shop but that was all. Will be spend tomorrow at the post office again, more ebay stuff.
AFD 15 today, still on 14 for NSDs. Getting absolutely no urge to drink in the week which I think is great, and a big change for me. Even on a weekend now I'm having maybe 2 or three glasses of wine instead of a bottle and more. Losing the interest in sitting at home drinking. If I go out, now that's a different matter, but for now I'll take what I can get. Changing my attitude to alcohol is long overdue.
Picked up my new glasses today, which are well lush. Also got a voucher for 50% off next pair, including off the lenses which is very good as I'm blind as a bat so have to get the thin lenses. I've got my eye on a few pairs already, and it's payday tomorrow. Must resist!
I feel really happy and positive about things at the moment. I'm mostly sticking to my diet, I feel healthier, I'm getting things done, and I'm starting to clear the house of crap and stuff. Am avoiding the supermarket, which is a good habit to get into because it's so easy to just pop in for something for tea on the way home from work, and there's a tenner gone. I don't need to be buying "something for tea" because there is loads of food in the house already.
I must confess I've gone a bit mad on toiletries in the bodyshop sale, and from the boots sale and xmas presents, however the rationale behind this is that I won't need to buy any all year now. There is absolutely loads, and given my obsession with body lotion (I use it morning and night) is no bad thing. I can get extremely lazy when it comes to my appearance when money saving, because I get into the mindset it's a waste of money, but when I feel good I'm more motivated, so I'm determined to motivate myself as much as possible and if feeling good helps then I'll do what I need to.
Still undecided about the gym. Have been walking more but I miss swimming. Decisions decisions.0 -
Posted off some ebay stuff today, and went to Sainsburys to get a few bits (had some vouchers off Valued Opinions). NSDs remain on 14, AFDs up to 16. No urge to drink in the week still, which is great. And in a sure sign my taste buds are getting more used to healthy things, I have just eaten a chocolate biscuit and didn't enjoy it. Oh how things change!
In terms of decluttering, which is my other daily bugbear, we've got a new tv for the bedroom a while ago, but it's still in the box in the spare room. In the interests of spurring me on, put it on Freecycle and someone's picking it up tomorrow. That will force me to set the new one up!
Seem to be running out of things to ebay but I shall carry on looking. I think I need to look at things differently as well, rather than buy new things I need to look at how I'm using the current things and see if they can be changed or recycled in some way.0 -
Ebay spending again, and bit the bullet and joined the gym (it's lovely, it really is) so still stuck on 14 NSDs. AFDs 17 though. Sold some more things on ebay today, but appear to have a right one who has purchased one of the items.
Item finished at 4.35. Buyer emails after and says 'if I pay now can you post today?', replied no, it's 4.35, post office shuts at 5, will post tomorrow if you pay today. Another reply, 'so I will receive it Friday'. So I replied, 'I will post it tomorrow, I cannot guarantee next day delivery however if you want next day delivery I am quite happy to send it special delivery if you pay the postage fee. No response to that. I say postage times 1-2 days on my listing, it's nothing rare, and surely if you wanted something that urgently you'd go to a shop and get it (it's something that you could buy in tesco, argos, off amazon).
Anyway, yes, I went to the gym. Was shown round, it's everything I was looking for. As it should be for the price. Having an induction and fitness session with one of the instructors on Monday, but will be going swimming hopefully daily before that. I'm really not confident with the actual gym stuff, but hopefully I will be before long.
Have also emailed to cancel my vodafone contract, which is up in March. Currently pay £15 a month for 600 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb internet. I don't use the minutes, use about 200 texts but use about 1gig internet a month. If I go onto PAYG I can do the text and web tarrif which gives me enough texts, 500mb internet and £10 credit for £10 a month, so I can use the £10 credit for the odd call I make and any additional web usage (although I'm keeping an eye on how I can reduce that as I get free cloud wifi through sky). If vodafone want to offer me a new deal, I have an open mind.
Have enough petrol to last for the end of the week, don't need any shopping, work lunches sorted, I'm good to go.0 -
15 NSDs and 18 AFDs. Busy day today, went to the gym on the way home from work and then sat and did 6 months worth of mileage claims. Knackered now, going to bed.0
