Not Tiny, Not Courageous, but definitely in debt

So yesterday and today are neither NSD nor AFD, but never mind. Yesterday mostly was as planned except for not getting to Sainsburys and having to go to tesco instead, so still got the vouchers for Sainsburys. Did get some bargains in Tesco though so it wasn't a major crisis. Today I've done an approved food order and booked a hotel for an away day in April (through Quidco and hotels.com so cashback and counts as one towards another free stay). I need to book another 4 hotels but I'm waiting to work out firm travel plans first (need the April rail timetable first).
Really liking MyFitnessPal, seems to have every food and drink in it which is really useful for counting calories. I need to up the exercise though.
Having a bit of a sort out in the house today. Nothing too life changing, just bits and bobs that are lying around the kitchen mostly. Have really let things slip over Christmas.0 -
NSD and AFD number 4 today. Also managed to keep on calorie target on MFP, although I've done no exercise as I've been busy.
Aim for tomorrow is to go swimming after work. There is no reason for me not to. I'm sure I'll find one though!0 -
NSD and AFD number 5. But, you can guess, no swimming. Forgot to take my stuff! And it's too late to go now, and I've a big pile of ironing. Excuses excuses.
On a "use up" mission, so made spag bol with dried soya mince which was actually quite nice (and very moneysaving, as the soya mince was something daft like 4 bags for a quid on approved food a while back). Not looking to empty the kitchen but getting a regular shift on the stuff used would be useful. Especially given my approved food obsession.0 -
NSD and AFD number 6. Still no swimming, but didn't finish work until late. Feeling very focused in terms of healthier eating at the moment, limiting my alcohol intake and also white bread intake. Had some garlic bread at the weekend and within 5 minutes felt bloated and wheezy. There's something in that, I'm sure.
Am tempted to join a gym, mostly because I want to be able to go swimming whenever I can fit it in and not just around the times the pool is open for general swim at the council baths. Have had a look and it's £40 a month, I'd need to go very regularly to justify that though.0 -
NSD and AFD 7. I'm not sure how long I can keep this up for, but we've got an absolute shedload of food in the cupboards, I've stopped eating bread mostly (apart from as a treat) and feel a load better for it, and less cheese so not having to buy those perishables so regularly. Need to eat more veg though. Might go to the market in my lunchbreak tomorrow. Or if I can hold off til friday that would be even better.
I weighed myself this morning and appear to have lost 4lbs. I don't feel like I have though. I've really been trying with my diet so I'm going to remain hopeful.
Moneywise, the NSDs are helping. I'm aiming for £200 off the credit card this month.0 -
On a roll! Count 8 for AFDs and NSDs, which I'm amazed at. It really feels like it's getting easier. Tomorrow will most definitely not be AF - my resolution is to not drink on work nights so I'm allowed tomorrow! Can't see myself going mad though. Not too many calories!
When I weighed myself this morning that 4lb was still off, so I'm taking that as a success. I've stocked up on soup from approved food so that's what I'm going to be eating in work for the next few weeks/months/whatever. I'm trying to snack less in work and definitely avoiding bread.
To get back to moneysaving... or not, the diet is quite moneysaving. I've decided not to go for the £40 gym and instead go for the local authority one which is £28 a month. If I'm paying it I will use it. I potentially might go back to my old swimming pool which is £10 a month - it's a big difference but the old swimming pool is a lot further away from work - I'd have to work out the petrol costs etc.
I've got an eye test tomorrow and will undoubtedly need new glasses. Plan is to get some nice £25 frames I've seen, possibly 2 pairs, and it'll be £40 for thin lenses - £80 if I do get two pairs. I wear my glasses all the time so it's worth the money.0 -
Today is treat day! Glasses have been ordered (more expensive than I planned but BOGOF and gorgeous), and I am relaxing with a low fat curry, a beer and I'm even going to have some chocolate afterwards.
Not looking forward to this snow that's supposedly on its way, although I do enjoy walking in the snow when it's stopped and I'm wrapped up nice and warm.
So, in a money saving sense, I have wasted a bit on some fab glasses, but seeing as I wear them every day they will more than be worth it. In a better moneysaving sense, that's all I spent today, which is good. I resisted the pound shop, the supermarket and the market, and even better, OH came home with reduced mushrooms. I therefore have enough soup, snacks and veg to keep me going for another week. If my plan to not leave the house except to walk in snow which may or may not come, comes to fruition, there are more NSDs on the cards.0 -
So I had two beers last night and spent the night coughing and congested worse than I have been in weeks. I'm sure there must be a link. Might need to avoid the beer for a while (it might also be the white rice or naan bread, I'll have an experiment and see).
I don't see any snow as yet, that still doesn't mean I want to leave the house though. Doing the washing and ironing today, will have a scout round for some things to ebay, and try to get that stuff listed today - already found some clothes that can go.
Tried to order a flask in the debenhams sale, but that got cancelled as out of stock. Did also order some ramekins and a new frying pan, but to be honest the frying pan was desperately needed and I've wanted some ramekins for ages (how sad am I?). Those plus an ironing board cover came to £10 so not too bad. Should have been £30.
The reason I wanted a flask was to take soup to work in. However, I have had a brainwave. I don't actually need a flask, as we have a microwave in the office. However, I do need something to carry it in, so I'll get one of those coffee cup things from the pound shop next time I'm in there.0 -
I was just getting something out the back of the cupboard under the sink and found one of those coffee cup things, which means I don't need to buy one. Result!0

8 things listed on ebay so far, two more mobile phones to be listed when they're charged up so I can check they work. If things don't sell, they can go to the charity shop. 2 lots of washing done, so that's all drying now. Next on the list is rip some CDs to the hard drive so they can be put away.
The paper recycling bag is looking very full. And I keep finding things I'd forgotten I even had.0
