One that I can afford to spend £2399 on.

But Again thank you for your constructive rubbish

    More money then sense then?

Are you going to 'royally' kick off and buy some pills for the heart rate at that price?

This is a moneysaving site, not a money wasting experience

I saved money I got £100 off the retail price and a free 5 year Guarantee.

Like I said each to their own
    I can afford it

You obviously can't and because of that you feel you must berate me because I can

I agree with the above, over £2000 for a Tv is madness.

We thought we were bad picking up a tv for £569 last year, and that was a Samsung 42" plasma.

Not all that full 1080i/p, but we dont need it as we did not have a HD source at the time. Only a virgin media V+ box, which has 5 HD channels now. Dont own a blue-ray player, nor a PS3.

5 year warrantys come FOC with Johnlewis electrical items.

    We have small kids....

Like I said each to their own. 3 years ago I would have said your mad to spend £500 on a tv. Back then that was 2 weeks wage for me.

However I no longer smoke and I dont drink. And I work hard and earn a decent living now. With xmas bonus last year oh and after clearing ALL my debts bar the mortgage. I spent a fair amount on entertainment for the house.

You could afford to spend that much on you tv so you did I could afford the amount i spent so i did.

If A Premeirship footballer spend 10k on a tv would that be madness?? Not to him only to people who cant afford it.

JL didnt have any stock of the TV. I used to be a GHL service agent and it was my first choice.
  • Matt: you haven't abrogated your rights.

What you've done is misunderstand the selling process.

The first owner of the TV is the manufacturer.

The second owner is the retailer who paid the manufacturer for it.

The third owner is you who paid the retailer, including the retailer's mark-up.

The retailer's mark-up which you financed isn't there to fund sympathetic smiles. It's there to provide an operating profit AND cover the costs the retailer might have to incur in time and money should something go wrong, post-purchase.

You want more than 'support' from the retailer and you are entitled to more. So get back on to them and ask, just what the heck are you doing for me, your customer?

I want the functioning television I paid for. And I want the darn thing now.

Dont worry, this isnt a us vs you thread. Were all here to help in some form.

Oh, £500 is a weeks wages (take home), and about 40 other people at work are on a lot more than me, hopefully ill get a promotion and start to climb the pay ladder again, so not really a big thing.

    Thanks.

I undertand that most posters on here are here to help but there are also some weekend warriors sat on their couch's who are mad with the world and want to vent some "my life is poop so how dare you do well".

Working for myself is the hardest thing I have ever had to do (I have had to sack friends). But the rewards justify the agro.

And no-one has the right to say what i can spend my earnings on.

With posts like yours, it's certainly in danger of becoming a time-wasting one.

Don't feel the need to justify your spending to people. It's your money and it's up to you how you spend it.

Best thing with trolls out to harass you is to ignore 'em yourself and let others pick up the fly swat if they so wish.

As to your own earlier post and the phrase "all I did was bypass the retailer", hopefully you'll now realise that, inadvertently, you acted in anything but your own best interests.

This is especially the case here, with a premium product from a premium brand manufacturer, which will no doubt have an excellent fast-track replacement arrangement via its UK distributor with the retailer, or retailer refund facility -- arrangements of which you as a customer can't know anything about.
