A full refund would be adequate, but I can understand you'd want another TV.
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

If it was my only tv I would just buy another

If I paid £2,399 for an oggle box, I would go and see a doctor about the length of my arms! They are obviously too long.

    Each to their own.

What would you say to your Dr "I can afford to spend X amount so i did please give me some pills! Stuff the people who are actually Ill I want to make a point"

    But thanks for your input:T
  • Stable door closing / horse bolted etc etc, but really OP, what on earth were you doing, contacting the manufacturer?????

You didn't buy the TV from the manufacturer but the retailer. And your retailer must be jigging with delight at the way you've saved them a lot of aggro.

"Top blokes"? I'd be a top bloke in that situation, smiling benevolently at a customer who has so generously relieved me of the responsibility I legally shoulder under SOGA.

They didn't - as I understand it they OP was to write to the retailer who would then say to the manufacturer - we have an unhappy customer here what can you do to help us speed up the repair (or similar)

Just for future referance so I dont do it again can you show me the section in SOGA where that gets covered.
The Tv came with a 5 year guarantee that is provided once I send Off some details. Then you get a nice card that says thank you blah blah blah If you ever need service please contact us directly on Etc etc.

However If i have been misguided into surrendering my rights under the SOGA then I'll sure kick up a hell of a fuss.

So please quote the actual section so I can kick off.

    Thanks
    Matt

"The trader cannot tell you to go back to the manufacturer"

Your contract is with the retailer.

The oggle box is an intrinsic object of fad. There is no comparrision to a doctor and pills.

    Still, keep taking the pills.

The Trader didnt tell me to go back to the manufacturer.

With most electrical appliances bought nowadays. There will be a warranty card present in the box that says for service or repair please contact ****

If I was to have phoned the retailer on a friday afternoon saying my set had gone faulty they would have said ok we will organise a repair agent to contact you. And then phoned Pioneer who would have contacted the same guys.

All I did was by-pass the retailer.

Now back to the statement that I have now dissolved my rights under The SOGA. I really need to see that As i will royally kick off.
