    Put in a barrier?
Ask the council to adopt the land so it can be managed by them?

There are ways but this scam is by far the most popular - sadly

But they cannot "fine" anyone, that is the issue.

I think customers should use the car park while shopping at the store and not for any other reason.

Does that answer the question for you?

sorry for trying to make the process easier for them...it always helps in disputes of this sort when you have the owner of the property on your side

The problem is that you don't know if Aldi own the property or not. Usually, Aldi or any other store is just the tenant and the owner is a big property company.

Having said that, it doesn't matter. There's no need to have the "owner on board". This is not a "dispute" as such. The car park "police" have issued an invoice which they claim is for damages for breach of contract i.e. breach of the parking terms & conditions.

Even if there has been a breach, in law, their only remedy is to reclaim their actual financial loss. Now then .... what financial loss have they suffered .....??????
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)

As there is no enforceable charge everyone can park there for free if they so wish.

That closer to what you are after?

You can not answer the question.ok.let me explain.

In my local shop, the little old ladies couldn't park in the stores own car park because it was full of free loaders (good luck to them you would say Julie). So they had to park further away and carry their shopping further to their car.

That may be acceptable to you,but it wasn't to them.

And to the OP.Is that not unusual for a store not to display their opening times?

So the stores answer is to employ the services of a company that will try and illegally get money from people who have parked there. How is that a good idea? What if one of these little old ladies (bless them) overstay by 2 minutes - they will have to pay won't they? (According to you - obviously in the real world no-one has to pay)

Why not try and come up with a proper solution? Because the management of the store is to lazy and doesn't care about its customers perhaps.

If the car park is free to use then they cannot suddenly have charges for a period of time, this has been discussed many times on many threads.

I do not say good luck to free loaders - you make assumptions incorrectly.
