Evening! Harvey came home today so I've paid my £1s and updated my spreadsheet. Glad to see you've all kept on track too. I love updated my figures so I'm with you on the 'small things' NoDebtDiva. LOL
Congrats that's great stuff having harvey home!:j:j:T:TBlessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heavenMatthew 5:30 -
Hello!
Novagirl that's great news - must be such a weight off your mind. How is Harvey settling in? Give him big hugs from us!
Good to see LL and ziggles are still on track..... makes the journey so much nicer for me!
Had a good day today. Got lots done in work and seem to be getting into quite a good routine at home. I always struggle with juggling 2 little ones, a full time career, house and life in general! I've subscribed to FLYlady and am finding that making sure my sink is shiny and my kitchen tidy before I go to bed is really having a positive effect. I am so determined to de-clutter my life this year and am pleased that I've finally managed to Ebay some bits and pieces. We haven't decorated any rooms for about 5 years and everything is starting to look a bit worn out now - we are hoping to be in a position to do some home improvements towards the back end of this year and I would like to get rid of loads of stuff. I am soooo sentimental and such a horder that it's completely frightening!! I have more or less EVERY picture my DD has drawn since she was born and sure I'll be the same with DS!!!
I have also found having an "attitude of gratitude" has helped a lot. I get bored easily and find it difficult to stick to things if they generally take more than 5 mins! That's why I get frustrated sometimes with the reality that my DFD is in 2012 - it seems miles away and I tend to live for today. A friend of mine told me that by focussing on the positive things I already have - 2 gorgeous, scrummy, adorable children; 1 sexy, cheery hubby (we've managed to iron out all the wrinkles from before Christmas - most of it was to do with being frustrated with money, long hours, demanding jobs etc) who is a fabulous Dad and great around the house; a Mum & Dad who are always there with a sense of humour, advice and lashings of love; great family and friends; a job that I really like although the responsibility is sometimes scary; new and supportive buddies on MSE;... the list goes on... but once you focus on what you DO have and not take it foregranted you start to feel more positive and the goal in hand (ie debts gone asap) seems so achievable. I really do appreciate the messages that appear in my diary, mainly from Novagirl, LexieLou and ziggles50 - I know that the support is there!
Gosh I'm being a bit deep tonight! I really do wish that I hadn't got into debt - mine is from purely over spending in my younger days and not budgeting (guess that's the live life for today part of me). But everything happens for a reason and I will learn loads from my debt free journey and will make sure that I pass on the great tips I've learnt to my children!!
However, on saying all of that, the best thing about today is that little Harvey is home - money can't buy that. And as a Mum, my children's health is more important than any DFD!
Right, I'm off now to do my weekly plan and slurp a glass of wine or two!0 -
Hi
Just paid my daily £1. I started this diary 14 weeks ago today and by paying my daily £1s have thrown at least £105 at my debt without even noticing - how cool!
Up early today to try and get my washing sorted and started, then off to meet my sister in town before my friend arrives to stay the weekend. I'm trying to get as much done before DD and DS surafce and cause chaos.
Off to catch up with some diaries.... speak later x0 -
Your posts are truly inspiring NoDebtDiva! I think we all wish that we hadn't got into debt but we are trying to get out of it and like you say, some things have more importance. Those £1s will soon add up and it could even be before 2012 that you're debt-free! x0

Hi
Just paid my daily £1 and have also flung £300 towards my CC so looking good today.
Got up really late this morning, probably because I stayed out really late last night! I now know why I don't do this very often - I really can't keep up with the pace! To add to that I had one (or two!) too many glasses of wine so my head is thumping! Never mind, chicken is in the oven and I'm going to sit down and watch a film or two this afternoon!
Have a chilled Sunday xx0 -
Have lost my debit card somewhere so can't log in to pay my £1 so have made a note to pay all my £1s when I find it! It's somewhere in the house it's just a question of where.
Have opened a Halifax reward account though today as the £5 each month could pay off a little interest on my debts.0 -
Had a productive day today. Sorted out all my filing and a pile of things that can go to a car boot. Also, got the £500 surestart grant which will help no end with buying bits and bobs for Harvey. I would never have thought to even apply thinking that it would be too much work but it was really easy. Have transferred into another account so that it won't go on debts or be frittered away. It should last for a while0

Hi Everyone,
OMG you've all been so busy. Great news about Harvey Novegirl, don't forget to get your childbenefit and WFTC sorted asap. You know unless you ask you won't get and that money is better in your pocket than theirs.
I haven't been on for a few days, I have been reading what you're all up to but just haven't written anything.
I've done my PAD, my OD is coming down rightly. Have a couple of biggies on ebay ending soon. I reckon by the end of the month i'll have about £500.
NDD dying to hear how ebay is coming along...I've listed that much perfume that i've reached my limit and can't list anymore for another 30 days. It was only about 5 bottles too!!
Right I'm away to update my diary and I'll drop in tmmw.
Be good.
LL xx£38,000 and change to £00 -
Off to register Harvey tomorrow so can then sort out child benefit and then tax credits too. Have made my £1 payments as found my debit card!
I must get round to listing some things on ebay too but I find now that it really is a site dedicated to the buyer as the seller can no longer leave negs.0
