    Morning everyone :hello:

I've been up, put on a load of washing, emptied the DW, hung a load of washing on the pulley, let out and fed the chickens, fed the dog, fed the fish, fed the birds and got so tired by all that that I've come back to bed with a coffee.:o;):D
Dtwins are playing "American flatmates" (think it may be loosely based on Friends) and the accents are driving me to distraction.

We're planning a walk in the forest later and will visit my favourite beach to collect more cloes and blackberries. The Daily Record are giving away free Jaqueline Wilson books this weekend Pipkin but I think that's just Scotland. So there'll be a trip down the town for those.

Dinner will be something simple, possibly sausage hash and eggs.

Hope you're both better soon Taplady and Sunnyday.
Hoping you got another decent sleep Jayne. x
  • Morning Guys!

WM is on although it's wet outside, so will be put in the TD:o DW has been on and emptied. Have had breakfast of coffee and toast with butter/marmite:D

We were given an induction hob a couple of weeks ago. It is only 1 ring but its great. It is so quick and boils a pan within about 90 seconds. Saves the glass gas hob getting used too as its a right pain to keep clean. Not sure what running costs are but seems to be twice as quick as the gas:confused:

Its another busy week at the hospital this week with 4 appointments, luckily 2 are in the same day as its up London and they try and get me to see as many consultants as I can in 1 visit.

DD's passport came yesterday which means she can go away with her friend in a couple of weeks:j:j:j....I was looking at the exchange rate and its really poor atm with the euros and her ticket to enter disney will be £120:eek::eek::eek: plus spending money. Does anyone know what a decent amount of spending money would be for 3/4 days including food:confused: My parents are giving her some money and hopefully OH's will too but she is asking anyone about their cars being cleaned etc to get a little more money. The pasport was £49 to get renewed!

    Anyway, I am rambling.

Hugs to Jayne and gorgeous George

I've got 9 days off now:j later DH and I are going to plan what we're doing.
OSiness - washing on line, another load in machine as its supposed to clear up later - still a bit damp here atm.
Quorn bolognaise from freezer for my tea, not sure about the others yet plus I'm defrosting a HM apple crumble to have with the half price cornish icecream from Tesco.
I'm off into town in a bit to go to the library and do a few jobs then later will cook DH and myself an all day brekkie:drool: - veggie for me.

I had an email about those HJ, but can't remember what newspaper it was with. I'm sure the offer is on in England too though . Anyway, DD has all those on offer. She has been collecting JW for a while - and got to meet her in January this year. To say she was thrilled is an understatement :D

I've just found the book [Hetty Feather] on Amazon for half price too, so that definitely saves a trip into town.

DD will be pleased, although she will have to wait a few days :)

Must take up some jeans later as they have been staring me in the face for a week and there is a load of other sewing to do as well,i could do this sitting in the garden as it's so lovely, except i'll probably get sidetracked in the borders :D

went to rugby last night with some friends who have a box and the local team won :jso lots of celebrating and we're through to the next round,a little too much wine perhaps!!!

    Be gentle with youself today

It is beautiful here this morning :) the sun is shining and is warm!

The WM has been on and washing is drying on airer on balcony at moment. I need to wash dishes and hoover before I go out.

I have a busy day today. My friend who lives in Bristol is down for weekend so we and 2 other friends are meeting up for lunch and spot of shopping. Then my brother is coming over late afternoon (he was meant to come yesterday but changed his mind grrr!) and then I'm going out for a few drinks locally with 2 colleagues and other people.

    Have a fab day all

They're way ahead of you TM. :D I'm just off to tidy up [STRIKE]Central Perk[/STRIKE] my kitchen.

How is your DS by the way?

I'm in the mood for baking now so off to do some brownies, doughnut muffins and carrot cake. ;)
  • I was in the mood for baking too;) I've made the 'great chocolate cake for family, friends, dessert, tea, birthdays...' from Nigel Slater's Appetite. We're going for the dessert option today. It is a lovely dense, moist cake with chopped chocolate and nuts and flavoured with coffee. He suggests variations - changing the nuts (I did), adding dried apricots or prunes, flavouring it with orange zest. I'm wondering about adding coconut next time to make a sort of 'Bounty' cake.

My family have all gone sailing this morning so I'm enjoying some peace and quiet. They're having lunch at the sailing club so I don't have that to get either.

Supper tonight will be lasagne I think if I have enough lasagne. I've got 2lbs of mince defrosting so I'll freeze half of the meat sauce for another meal. If there isn't enough lasagne I'll make it with sliced potatoes instead.

Bright and sunny here so the washing is out, but I'm not sure it is warm enough to dry.
