    98.5% - we completed on Friday :)

The house originally went for over the asking price, as there were 2 other interested parties fighting over it! However, as the vendor wanted a quick sale though to complete a chain the 2 other parties had to drop out and we were offered first refusal.

BTW Foxton's claim to achieve an average of 93% of the asking price.

If that's true, it's hardly a great advert to entice vendors is it?

"We'll either overvalue your property or, if we get the valuation right, we'll negotiate so badly on your behalf that you'll be forced to accept 93% of asking."

    Pah.

We sold at full asking and bought at 99%. We could probably have gotten away with less but we were in love with the house, had been rejected on another where we'd come up to 98%, and we were in a hurry to find a home! So we made them an offer they couldn't refuse :)

We moved here 10 days ago BTW - and still feel it was a good buy :)

I've voted 2, however technically it was on at offers over £160K and we got it for £156.

We've yet to complete though. Just at the final stages of setting exchange dates.
