Heres another poll!!! :j
Just interested in hearing from people who have actually bought properties this year. Basically, I wanted to know how much of the asking price was paid;
I answered your poll question but the bit about actually bought properties this year does not come across until after you have voted, my answer related to 2001 (between 90 and 95%).

You could pm Pal, the board guide and ask then to change it.
Ban the Scots from voting too!
:whistle: Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Asking price 25k got them down to 21k (84%) - this was five years ago before prices went silly.
The couple I bought from really shot themselves in the foot.....they did the viewing themselves rather than let their EA do it. During my short time in the property they revealed the house had been on the market for a long time and the best offer they had had was 15k.......I went in at 20k and got it with a "final offer" of 21k. Bearing in mind they had paid 25k for it originally in 1991 and subsequent price rises they lost out badly.
About the only astute financial purchase I have ever made, and out of neccesity not because of any insider info about future house prices.....0 -

it's not just scotland where you tend to payover the asking price - it's standard practice in sheffield too.0
