I think so.. no one can force you into a discount as opposed to forcing you to refund..

Maybe someone else with more ebay experience can help you.
  • She wants a discount now, not a refund. can i insist on a refund?
It's a difficult one, not too sure how paypal will take to a case opened on something not allowed on ebay, but presuming it is the same:

if she opens a paypal dispute then they will tell her to return them for a refund. I would say that she wants them, and is just trying to haggle.
If you are happy with refund and return then I would just stick to your guns.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

Not good advice; never, ever recommend something tantamount to fraud.

Fraudulent or not that's the Facts of what happens, that's why so many people complain about eBay and why it has so many problems.... are you asking me to lie or to obscure the truth of what happens and allow someone to get ripped off themselves at a later date? i don't recommend anyone does what i suggest, but i do heavily suggest that they pay attention as it is actually the truth of the matter.

If you have an objection to the facts that are here, then dont use eBay, go do a carboot where none of this can happen, otherwise you just gotta bite the bullet and do what you have to stay 'within eBay guidelines'

you cant be forced into a discount, refund her if you think its best as if she opens a dispute there will be a section that says *you can prove the buyer has been refunded and you will be able to provide an ID number for the refund

It is allowed on e-bay but not when its used, it isn't used though.
You cant have everything; where would you put it? ;)

I think that is open to an interpretation that ebay might not agree with. If I buy something new I expect it to be new, I would not expect something that has been used (by washing it several times) to be sold as new. The only other alternative that ebay offer is used..and that is prohibited.

No, I know, but if it said used in the description then paypal/ebay will probably have trouble understanding.

Like I said though, they will probably insist on the buyer returning it. They won't force you to partial refund in any case.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I e-mailed ebay and explained the situation with the nappies being washed but not used as they originally removed my listing. I was told that I could re-list the item which is what I did. I am quite surprised that there are also several used nappy sets selling every day on e-bay!!!
There should be no confusion whatsoever - the items were listed as used as they were washed but the description clearly stated that they had not been put any where near a babies botty!
In my refund section i also state that I will offer a full refund MINUS the postage and packaging - she wont exept this, does this stand for anything??

Whitewillow - have you looked into pocket nappies such as Bumgenius? No need to tumble dry - they dry on an airer overnight, the inserts take a little longer, but not much at all. Equally, if you wanted a nappy + wrap, Little Lamb are fab. I've used cloth on ds for nearly three years - he refuses to potty train grrrr - and only had a tumble dryer for the last 6 months, rarely use it for nappies.

I havent heard of those, I will look into them now tyvm! *Sorry OP dont want to hijack your thread :)*
