Why did you wash them if you didn't use them? Thats why the buyer thinks they are used. Ask them to return for a full refund. If they raise a Paypal dispute thats what will happen anyway.
    Beacuse:
I intended to use them. My mum spent £230 on them. The instructions said that you have to wash them before use to increase absorbancy and to soften them. unfortunately I was very ill following the birth of my daughter and this extra hastle of washing nappies was an unwelcome thought! I clearly stated this in the listing and listed them as used although technically they hadn't been used!
You cant have everything; where would you put it? ;)

I'm sorry but i think the buyer has a bit of a point although I agree that they should have read the listing better.

A washed item cannot be sold as new, it isn't new they might be unworn but they are used.

Like others have said just ask for them to be returned fully tracked and refund on safe arrival.

It was not listed as new and this was clear to the buyer. She is arguing that there are marks on them but they are immaculate, have been checked by me before sending and have not been used!

  • Thanks so much everyone who responded. Especially the posters who suggested other selling sites. I have offered the buyer a refund minus P+P which she will not accept (p+P cost £10) as I still feel as though I have done nothing wrong. She has now said that she will not accept this and wants a discount??? Sounds to me like a chancer! What do I do now? she paid £70 for the nappies, how much should I refund? We have established that it is five of the the nappy covers that she is unhappy with as the inside labels have faded!!! Any further advice would be very greatly appreciated.
    Thanks again xx

I'd be tough now.. and say that she return the whole lot for a full refund - you will have to do her initial postage too, paypal will make you if it goes to a dispute anyway- or keep them for no money back.
Take the neg that will follow and calmly reply stating "buyer wanted discount after sale, I refused" or something similar. One neg shouldn't affect your sales really, especially not if you stay nice in your follow up, avoid capitals or calling the buyer names ( I got called a stupid buyer for not reading dispatch times in the listing - it stated 2 days, seller sent the item after 11 days and pp claim, wish I'd left a neg rather than a neutral for that one)

I think it does look messy when abuse remove it and put a big note in your signature about how your signature has been removed for breach of rules, I'd much rather people just abide by the rules of MSE and remove it themselves.

If by facts you mean quoting me as saying something I didn't say... um, sure?
