    Honestly?
    Yes.....

Im 34, but my friends STILL call me the 'spoilt little princess'...

    BUT...

The most amazing thing my parents ever did for me was move from London to Swansea when I found out I was pregnant, so as they could be close to their Grandson, and help me out. I can never thank them enough for that.
You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

    *I have done reading too*
*I have done geography as well*

I would say I'm spoilt. Im an only child (24 in less than a month, Parents are giving me 250 quid (towards spending money - Im going to NYC) although my parents foster.
Some examples; I am living at home for various social/economic reasons (I live in london:rolleyes:) and pay only 100 rent (which is nothing, I realise but Im only here about 36hrs a week and Im saving to move in with my partner, plus I help out). Although my parents are not flush and alot of money goes on the foster kids, I have never wanted for anything within reason when I was kid.
My mum and dad still always buy me a little gift if they go away on holiday, my mum will always buy food especially for me (expensive sushi and veggie meals) Having said that my parents made sure I got a job at 16 and havent stopped working ever since (except during Uni), I dont ask for these things but I think its a habit they got into. So I would say Im spoilt but grounded :o (I hope!). They like buying me bits and bobs I think, I always say they dont need to:confused:
Aim - BUYING A HOUSE  by November 2013!

My Mum spoils me and my brother rotten at christmas and birthdays. Well in the hundreds. I have asked her not to - she won't listen. She won'tgive any money to charity on my behalf, and won't spend any less. There is nothing I can do to stop her - she gets pleasure from it she says , and we are her kids . It makes me exceptionally uncomfortable - i wish she would spend the money on herself and treat herself. She went without for years as a single parent = sacrificed everything for us , and still does even though we are 30 and 34.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

My parents don't spoil me materialistically, but I they give more than any present is worth every week.

Yes, they do. I wish that my father had had good health, he could not do the things that a father does for his children in a practical sense just as we were becoming adults. I get spoilt materially now because the money they would have spent on themselves on his retirement sat in the bank instead. I would prefer things to have been the other way around but that is what life throws.

My mum doesn't spoil me with xmas and birthday presents as she's a Jehovah's Witness, but she insists on paying virtually every time we meet for lunch or a coffee. When my dad was alive they always treated us (me, DH plus 3 kids) to meals, days out and whenever we went on holiday with them they insisted on paying the lion's share.

So, yes...I've been spoilt as an adult. It's been lovely though, as when the kids were younger we simply couldn't have afforded those sort of treats, and then we wouldn't all have such happy memories of times spent together. I fully intend doing the same with our children in the future

Same here! I didn't get on amazingly well with my parents when I lived at home, but since I moved out (and live in the next street literally 3 houses away!) they can't seem to do enough for me and we get on really well!

Ever since I moved out my parents have insisted on contributing towards my rent. Their reason is that they paid all my sister's rent and tuition fees when she went to uni and I didn't go so they would feel guilty if they didn't help me out financially as well. I've tried to get them to stop but they won't! So now I put the money straight into a savings account each month and make them aware that I am actually saving and being responsible with the money rather than spending it on crap!

They are very generous at birthdays and Christmas too, and always pay when we go out for family meals - my poor OH gets embarrassed as he always tries to offer them money when the bill comes and they just won't take it!

I realise how lucky I am to have such generous parents and I think that if I ever have kids, I would try to treat them to stuff the way my parents have treated me.
