    - DELL inspiron 2200
    - 1.40Ghz
    - 8x DVD driver
    - No printer (saved me £30, will get 1 from ebay for dirt)
    - 512 RAM
    - wifi card
    - 90 days option
    - cost total : £477 (incl. vat and shipping)

    Shouldn't be long until it arrives. My friend's is due Saturday. Was despatched yesterday... average time no more than 3 days... even at xmas.

    is there a way to find out when will mine arrive. just 5 mins back received email from dell about order confirmation. thks

    Well they have the order watch facility when you log into your account, but the delivery date shown is approximate - they usually arrive sooner. Your laptop order will now be sent to Dell's manufacturing plant, then put into pre-production, then production and finally dispatch. It takes 5-7 working days from dispatch. I ordered my mate's one over the weekend and it'll be there Saturday - the courier rang them early this morning.

    but it'd be great to have a deal on a Dell instead...

    Not at the moment, but I'll get back to you... what's your requirement and budget? Sony's are good, but pricey.
