I am not recommending this site yet as I have only just been referred to it myself and haven't read all the small print but it looks much bigger than ebid and any other wannabe ebays. It is more of an Amazon model with items at fixed price and sales possible against a catalogue entry.

If you look on the MSE boards for codes there is a discount code available against your first purchase and Topcashback also offer cashback on purchases, that might tempt buyers in which is where other sites sometimes fail.
I've just bought some items and will see how it all works.

I took the plunge and made a couple of purchases and may look to list some items for sale when I get a better chance to trawl the small print. On the face of it it appears to be OK, apparently there are over 5 million users worldwide and it is alledgedly big in France.
Fees appear to be cheaper than Amazon and greenmetropolis and the books i have bought worked out cheaper than buying from either of those two sites. The advantage of having cashback sites on board means this might be a site that will bring in buyers , unlike some of the others.
I'd still like some personal recommendations though, especially from regulars if they have ever used or come across this site before.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. #21I posted this on the discount board last week:Price Minister (Amazon wannabe) £5 off any spend + free delivery!
I have just stumbled upon this site by chance when looking for an old CD. I found the CD for around £5 and then a £5 voucher code!:j
The discount is for £5 off any spend and the code is AFFWELCOME5 which appears on the home page, it doesn't say when it expires so cannot say when it all ends but I used it, it works and I can recommend it!
I have just used it and the code works, all we need to do now is wait for the delivery.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Priceminister looks big in France, but has anyone used them in the UK yet as an alternative to eBay, Amazon etc and are they any good?
They're claiming 15 million visits a month and making all sorts of offers to try and attract buyers according to their youtube video (sorry can't post the link but just search on youtube for Priceminister UK) but it looks like they've only recently launched the UK site.
Anybody got any experience with these people?0 -
Looking at their catalogue sales format, P&P rebates, their own integrated e-account for making and reciving payments, and typical inventory such as media and technology, I'd say they are competing more with Amazon than ebay.
Although I can see lots of reference to it being free to list, the link to the commission charges is well hidden - http://www.priceminister.co.uk/help/edito_commission/popup/true
15% + up to £1 on items under £75 definitely puts in the Amazon competitor range for fees.
I'm not sure where they are claiming 15 million visits per month, but on this page http://www.priceminister.co.uk/help/hs - they are claiming "By selling on PriceMinister your offers are visible to 20,000 potential buyers"<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

It's in the text description of the priceminister UK video on youtube (sorry I'm a newbie so can't give the link in this post) and also on the 3i site where it says "About 15 million people visit the site each month, 34 million products are for sale, and PriceMinister now has 5 million members."
I guess that's for the French and Spanish sites and if they are new to the UK then 20,000 seems more realistic! Anyhow it'll be interesting to see if that number goes up quickly because they seem to be pushing hard to attract new people.0 -
I'm seeing a lot of ads now all over the place and whilst 'good' ads would make me happy the spam 'I just found this site' ones make me suspicious.
I was quite hopeful about this as a contendor for some of my books but maybe this is going to be another one where we get endless 'I just found this' posts.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
