When I went to Benidorm a few years ago there wasn't much sign of spanish food. All british and chinese restaurants. Made me laugh in our hotel (all-inclusive) they usually had a special on.. one day they had some delicious fish and I went back 3 or 4 times for more because there was no queue. Next day the special was roast beef and yorkshire puds and the queue went all the way out of the (large) restaurant.

If anything the show makes Benidorm look less Chavvy than it acually is.

They pay all that money for a holiday to enjoy themselves not specifically for a plate of food? It seems on here some people think than unless your eating the local cuisine or sitting on some £5 metal chair outside some cafe, drinking some 1euro plonk whilst "people watching" then you shouldnt go on holiday lol.

'Benidorm' is not a soap, its a bl00dy comedy! - I think you have missed the point somewhat - IMHO it is the funniest thing on TV at the moment, and oddly enough actually makes me want to go to Benidorm for a week!

-I am normally a fan of european cities as holiday destinations, and avoid places like spain altogether, but I am beginning to fancy it, just out of curiosity!!

I agree with you. It’s ironic as I would never have considered a holiday in Benidorm (and package holidays certainly aren’t our normal type of holiday) but having watched the programme I am intrigued and quite fancy a short break there. The beach looks lovely and clean, and as I understand it quite a lot of money have been spent on trying to smarten up Benidorm, and that the old town is rather nice. I bet it’s great for people watching!

well ive never been to benidorm, just back from america, but tbh i quite fanct going to there, just for a few fun days. Beats living in here, i live in a street with the most nosiest old peaple around who have nothing better to do than gossip about you. I have a 18 years old daughter, so we reuse an ann summers bag quite often - they must think shes some sort of nympho lol

anyone know what tour operator deals with the hotel featured in benidorm???

I find it very funny and to be honest you shouldnt read too much into tv programs is there to entertain not give factual information

I think people go to Benidorm so that they CAN eat English food. How many English food places are there in the High St over here ? All foreign is what I see.
