Hi I love the idea of hampers am going to make DD one for her first Xmas, she will only be 9 months so alot of little bits I plan on her being able to reuse but I think its a lovely tradition to start. Anyone any ideas of stuf that would be good for such a littlie? so far Ive made her a santa stop here door hanger, and bought a blanket from matalan and a reindeer soft toy in the sale last year along with some xmassy PJs. I did get the avon mug mentioned just cos it was so cute and a good offer, but this will be put away for when she is big enough. Id like to do the reeindeer food and bits for santa but doubt she'll understand.
Hi , my dd was only 9 months last xmas and i made her a xmas eve box and my ds thought it was great his baby sis had one as well. I put new pjs in, new bath towel, baby book, xmas baby socks, disney store minnie mouse soft toy, small mini bud bath duck, small packet white choc buttonsand that was all really, hope these may give you an idea. xx

MIL has given us a wicker basket that should be good to use, was thinking about re using it each year and have seen some personalised ribbon on ebay, may order some and tie it around the basket.Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Hi all first post, but I've been browsing for ages!
I've been inspired from here to make Christmas Eve hampers for my two boys (7 and 10) and while looking for something to put them in I found these laundry bags. Gah, just realised that as a new user I can't post links - they are on dot com gifts under laudry bags and have a variety of patterns, toys, spots, skulls.
Can I just point out thought that they are on ebay at a much cheaper price!
I have no connection to either dot com gifts or the ebay sellers but hoped this might help someone who's looking for something to put a hamper in.0 -
Welcome jlp76! Thanks for that tip - that's a really good idea!Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas."

Few suggestions, feel free to ignore me
Santa key - can be as little as 99p
Snuggly blanket/throw for you (maybe one each?) to all snuggle under while watching Elf - this will probably be the most costly
Night Before Christmas book - not sure on prices, we got ours free
Teddy for your 5 year old - as much or as little as you want to spend really
Glow stick - start from 49p
Pen&paper/premade Christmas list for the 5 year old to have fun with (my daughter couldn't write so well at 5 but she still loved doodling all over the list!)
You can get Christmassy bowls/plates from poundshops, either for you to eat the bounty snowballs from, or to leave a snack out for Santa.
In the same vein, you can pick up Christmassy cups/mugs, think we got some 2 for £1.50 last year.
Sorry for all the extras, and you don't have to take any notice of me, or you can pick a few out - but you'd be surprised how little you'd have to spend on all this, eBay is definitely my friend!!
All horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.

cutterby mentions blankets
asda are doing 2 fleecy ones for £3
i got them, and backed a patchwork quilt for each of our 3 for their hampers
although middle daughter i used a hello kitty one (bought for £5)
her patchwork is hello kitty
sons is sweets
and oldest daughters is wizard of oz (her fave film)
i make them a hamper
and one for "the house"
the one for the house is edible goodies, dvds, board games etc
and theirs is
jammies (in the sales)
socks (in the sales)
dressing gown (in the sales)
shower gel/deo etc (sales)
slippers (sales)
sock monkey (making)
snowman soup/mug/chocolate covered spoons(making and mugs 3 for 2 boots)
blanket (making)
colouring book and pens(bargain crayola sets from amazon under £2 each)
handheld game each (£2 from ebay, wheel of fortune, pacman & space invaders, their faves each)
ladybird microwave warmer (like this but was £3 each:eek: in firebox clearance)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intelex-Cozy-Plush-Microwaveable-Warmer/dp/B001WLZBPU
pots of gold (making)
retro sweetie boxes (making)
because of the size of the blankets i am making them sacks to put them in this year as i cant get a box big enough
it sounds a lot but i have had some smashing bargains this year
and i only have the edible bits to get, and finish making their sacks, and sew up their blankets0
