Like many others

Hiya, like many others, I have been reading these boards and lurking for a while and have now got up the courage too post. I am not in a great deal of debt and my problems seem trivial in comparison too some, its for that reason i have not posted. Scared incase people say " thats not a problem" or similar. I have been in debt many times before and just when I start to climb out of it, I put myself back in it again. Whats all that about ??????? I know it is going to stress me out and I am going to struggle to pay my outgoing, but I just go a head and do it anyway.:confused::confused:. I feel I am a lossed cause. I just "have" to keep pressing myself distruct button for some unknown reason. At the moment its 2 weeks to pay day day and I have £1.50 in my purse :eek::eek:. I have borrowed from relatives and friends so cant go there again. As my username says "I'm Lossed"

    hey hun,

didn't want to read and run and just wanted to say you're not the only one who has climbed a fair part of the journey only for circumstances or our own stupidity to throw us back down the cliff face a bit!

we all do it, and thankfully the DFW is a great place for getting advice when sometimes you just can't see the wood for the trees....

So about this £1.50 and 2 weeks til payday...

what do you absolutely need cash for... what have you got in the house for supplies? have you any dependents?

we'll see what we can do to eek things out a bit babes..........

Thankyou for your reply, I have no dependants at home. OH is aware of the situation but not aware yet, that there is no money for 2 weeks, petrol needed for the care, 2 weeks rent and food. I think I can sort the food thing, there is food in the cupboards and freezer. I just have the rent and petrol to sort out.

    Thankyou

and does OH hold any of the money, or is it really £1.50 between you both? assuming you live together?

When you get paid in 2 weeks, is it all accounted for... or could you catch up with the bills then?

    Hi

Do you know how you got into this situation or is it a regular occurance. You probably need to do a SOA and post it up and keep a spending diary next month so you see where the money is actually going.

Hiya, Husband has £20 and he would had it over if needed. I just want to try and not ask for it. I know its a silly way to think and that we are in this together, but my way of thinking is that i deal with all the money and bills and its my over spending and wasting money that has got us in to this (yet again). He gets £20 pocket money a week and never asks for a penny more, he buys his clothes and whatever he needs out of this. He is aware there will be no pocket money until we get paid. OH is paid 15th I am paid 16th. Will be able to catch up on rent but i am already in a sticky situation with them as I have had many chances with them. Have had a look around and cash is up too £4 now. Petrol will last till friday. Then just a week to go

    Thankyou for chatting

there are ways to generate a bit of extra income i guess by ebaying, music magpie any CD's, amazon marketplace as well but none are instant cash....

Carbooting is a bit more instant but you need to cover your pitch fee and you might not make much depending on what you're trying to sell..........

have you anything you can sell in the £50 or less free ads in the local paper? or even your local Gumtree online?

You can't go on like this, existing from payday to payday. You need to learn how to budget properly and spend only what you have. First of all, write down all your monthly income - wages, benefits etc. Then all the regular household bills - housing, gas, electric, water, council tax, regular insurance payments, groceries, telephone etc. Use the SOA calculator (one of the stickies at the top of the first page) and post it on here. Then we can see if we can suggest any way you can increase your income and cut your costs. It will involve some work and discipline on your part to get out of this continuing revolving door of debt, but it can be done, believe me. We have all been in similiar situations

Yes I do know how I got into this situation overspending and wasting money. As I said in my 1st post. I just keep pressing my self distruct for some reason. By that I mean doing the same stupid things over and over again. For all I know I should not. I will look around for SOA and roughly do it until I get all the info together and do it exactly. This month has been bad because I was £200 down in my pay due to sickness. Usualy I struggle the last few days to pay day. Both my OH work full time and should not be in this situation. We bring in between us about 1,600 a month
