    That must be the most ridiculous comment I've seen online in ages and considering the amount of drivel there is that's quite a feat!

    Since when wasn't England a nation? Or Scotand, Wales or Northern Ireland for that matter? :confused:

    They are all constituent Countries that form a sovereign state. Certainly not Nations.

    now you hold the record for the most ridiculous post.

    It is disgraceful that the game is not on TV.

    As someone who dislikes football, and often gets annoyed that it sometimes takes over the mainstream channels, and really annoyed when it ever runs and no-one thought to pad the schedules with repeats that can be easily dropped and not missed, I don't care if it's off mainstream TV.

    However I know some will, but it's no different to Sky outbidding the BBC / ITV and putting Premiership matches on Sky Sports and them not being on BBC1 or ITV.

    Someone bought the rights, thats football, move on. If you want to watch it (legally) you need to buy the appropriate hardware, for Sky it was a reciever, Dish and a subscription, for this it's a PC and a internet connection and a "ticket" to the game.

    At the end of the day if FIFA had wanted to they could have forced it to be on terrestrial TV, they didn't they sold the rights to the highest bidder. If Setanta hadn't gone pear shaped people who hadn't subscribed to Setanta would still not be seeing it anyway.

    It's not about the fans it's about the cash.

    Careful of this - a number of bookies force you to bet through your deposits before allowing you to withdraw meaning you could lose your £10.

    (Take a look over at the Gambling Introductory loophole board if you want to sign up and watch the match without risking your tenner!)
    you can do whatever you want with your own money.... its when they offer free bets , matched bets etc which you cannot withdraw immediately( they have strict t&c on this ). but your definately safe in withdrawing your own money whenever you want to.

    That is a common misconception, and as such I will forgive you.

  • Hi,

    I've always thought that live football on TV has fallen foul of Competition Commission rules. (shout at me if I am talking out of my ar*e):

    The competition commission states that it helps ensure healthy competition between companies in the UK, indicating that if a consumer wishes to pay to watch a live football match, they should be able to choose between at least 2 completely seperate services.

    For example, I want to watch chelsea v liverpool on Sunday. At present he ONLY way I can legally watch it at home is on a Sky Sports channel. Shouldn't the consumer have a right to choose to pay and watch exactly the same live match on either Sky OR another channel?
    Profit=sanity
    Turnover=vanity
    Greed=inhumanity:dance:
  • The reason this game is on the internet is that none of the main broadcasters bought the game rights from Setanta.
    The game is actually meaningless to England as we have already qualified.
