It does mean registering with a bookmaker BUT you do NOT have to place a bet and this is the only legal way to watch this World Cup qualifier live.

I was reading an article on the BBC website this morning and the alternative to the above will cost up to £11.99 so well worth signing up to this one even if you don't gamble, imo.

It says that you need a "funded" account to watch the match so does this mean you have to put money in your account to be able to watch? Would like to watch but will not "pay" to do it!

if that is the case, deposit £10 in your account and withdraw it after the games over
  • Is this really the only way to watch our national team?
    What have we come to?
If we had someone in charge of the country you'd think they might have something to say about this, do our kids really need to see that we have to open a bookmakers account who controls the football viewing, what sort of example is this. I've not heard one of the politicians from any party condem it. How do any of them expect to get elected?

It is an away match, and as such nobody in this country has a right to dictate who is allowed to show the match.
    Gone ... or have I?

we dont have a national football team , we have 4 regional national teams.

Sorry but I disagree. We have a national team, yes it is one of four national teams in this case, but we are debating the merits of our national teams being only available through a bookmakers. Surely that's the point. Maybe Martin should take up the cause on behalf of all our national team supporters - whatever variety they may be!

Pretty sure that England isn't a region but a country in its own right unless I've missed this news recently, therefore England being my country I would consider the England football team to be by national team, if I was supporting my regional team i'd have to support East Anglia and there definately isn't an East Anglian national team!!!!

Stop being thick please. Its perfectly clear that "we" are represented nationally in the Olympics but not in the football.

The English football team is just one of 4 national teams.

I'm sorry thats incorrect. This match was bought by Setanta. They went bust and no one has re-bought the rights. Hence this internet shenanigans.
