I am not trying to convince you to change your beliefs, I'm just saying that you may not care others certainly do, I am proud my father's name is on my BC and I carry the same name as a Grandparent.
I suppose Cellmark or such like, have diminshed the 'value' of a birth certificate

In case anyone doesn't know cellmark are paternity testing.

I REALLY REALLY don't care what small minded little people like you think.

I carry my husbands name thank you:rolleyes:

MrsE I have no idea what or where this has come from as you can see from other posts here some people do believe there is a stigma there.

As for my opinion of you :confused::confused::confused:

You accused me of what DUTR is displaying.

    Let me post it again
I suppose in time the pC brigade will bar Fathers day as it can be upsetting to some children in the classroom.
In school up here the kids aren't allowed to make fathers day cards so it probably isn't that far off your idea.

TBH I still think you owe me an apology for accusing me of being a bigot.

I don't care what you what you care, the OP is worried or has some concerns, you can tell her what she want s to hear or read, but there is a real world out there, if these minor things didn't really matter any of the time, then when you got married why carry your husbands name?

I don't think you are owed an apology on this occasion, people can think what they like of others, it is how you deal with that personally that matters.

Should those of us who have no father on a birth certificate feel shame, and be disgraced then?

No not at all, but I cannot speak for others in society, or outside of MSE :o

    Because I like it.

What I'm saying is don't consider the opinion of bigots.

There will always be racists/bigots/etc but best not to take any notice of their rantings, why take such people seriously?
