I think **um is a little harsh in fact a lot harsh, not just considering my own circumstances but that of many posts on the forum, as well as offspring parents still have to have their own lives and seek or maintain contentment with their lives.
However it is law to contribute but not law to have contact, it is a great shame that some feel they have no option than to just 'disappear' .
Not in your case or mine but some do try and take advantage of the other party :o

You just have to relax , the venomous ones soon tame as their poison does not work, there are a lot of keyboard warriors about, but I suspect they are as soft as moist putty in real life, perhaps the anger expressed is from the hurt they are feeling for whatever reasons. Healthy debate is always good.

So the name on a birth certificate will ensure the son KNOWS the father when he grows up? Really?
There is no stigma attached anymore and I stand by that!
As I said to OP, just make sure your son knows WHO his father is when he grows up.

Knowing a name and Knowing a father are two completely different things.

Should those of us who have no father on a birth certificate feel shame, and be disgraced then?

They wouldn't let me put sperm donor on the certificate so I had to leave it empty.
