Have you tried ulla popken?
http://www.ullapopken.co.uk/en/categories/Ladies/Shirts/
Their tops are usually a good length; I am 5'9" and they are plenty long enough for me.
You can search by colour/size as well.
They do take about a week to arrive so no quick fix!0 -
I've just come across this online seller (on ebay too) and I do think some of the clothes are fabulous. NOT cheap, sadly, but they look to be worth saving up for.

Lagenlook is the term used to describe the look on the site sarahemmm posted, they use the term themselves. It's very popular with 30+ women in northern europe, as far as I know.0 -

okay question for the upper plus sized
what's the general consensus on leggings? Full length, not cropped. Usually wear them under dresses, and long tunics, with DM summer flowery sandals.
I've only recently gotten the confidence to even wear dresses, and aside from the forest needing hacked down with my legs (lazy!) I don't like going bare legged/issue of modesty for me.
I had a friend basically tell me that fat people shouldn't wear anything like short skirts, dresses, and such clothes that didn't cover them up ala tent style... We weren't talking about me, it just came up in a conversation that some "30 stone woman, at least, had a mini-skirt on, should be ashamed" etc.
There I was sat there in my shortish (knee length) dress, and leggings. I queried why it was ok for a thin girl to do it, and not a fat one. What about what I'm wearing?? "oh it's not the same, on you" was the reply, and got nothing else back.
Confidence wise, no I don't have sexy legs that are match to a models. I do have fat legs, follows the traditional leg shape, but all parts are fat. So I think well whether I wear jeans, or leggings, you can see the size/shape of my legs, but now I'm doubting even leggings are ok.
What about Tights? But then static problems!
Tights or Leggings?
It's not an option to not have either, so what can I do?[/QUOTE]
well, i'm sat on the sofa wearing a tunic top and leggings. i wear shorter skirts (above knee length) with leggings and i never wear tights as i find that they fall down and are hot and sweaty (the joys of being tall and large).
wear what you feel comfy in!'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0 -
I'm in the process of updating my wardrobe and am now going to try leggings!Growing old disgracefully!0

O.k im a bit confused, a few posts back i posted some links to new look and some plus size magazines, i clicked on the site somebody else posted, then asked what lagenlook was, i turned 30 this month, but have no intention of dressing like the ladies on the website, that is a very mature look, just because i am bigger, i have no intention of dressing older, i like fashion too much, i'm more of a current trends kinda gal.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

I got mixed up with the posts, I've amended my post, sorry it wasn't your link.
But I'm confused too, I'm not saying that you have to dress in any particular way, just a description of what lagenlook is, and what type of women seem to like it. I don't agree that it's is a 'very mature' look, it's a look I personally like, I had a few pieces from Box 2 several years ago and didn't feel decrepit....
I don't see many 20 something women wearing it though, so it's definitely more popular with 30+ women, and it originates from northern Europe, I was just being factual.
I talk a lot about how people should dress they way they like, I post links from the 'fxck flattering' campaign, so if I mention a look that is totally different it doesn't mean that I think everybody should wear it.
PS I'm older than you, so I wasn't talking from a young person's point of view telling you that your are too old to be trendy, in case you thought that.0 -
Just spotted this thread, great info.
I am plus size and I can recommend the following specialist retailers. They sell designer plus size clothes with prices to match so not for everyone however sales are on at the moment and often the reductions in these shops are very good.
Emma Plus in Brighton. A very well known store and customers travel some distance. I live about 2 hours drive away myself. Emma's blog is worth a read even if you have no intention of visiting as it does contain useful information on body shape and what suits best.
http://www.emmaplus.co.uk/start.html?sound=0
They don't do mail order. They stock a large range of designer fashion from Anna Scholz / Sallie Sahne / Marina Rinaldi to less expensive makes such as Brand, Verpass, Chalou, Angel Circle, Nanso and many others. They offer a free alteration service, which makes all the difference IMO. As already discussed on this thread within the plus size family there are a vast range of body shapes, heights etc.
If you hate shopping for clothes try and go to Emma Plus. Her staff are so well trained that they will go through the rails and pick out items for you to try on, and often you'll find you'll look great in something you wouldn't dream of taking off the rails yourself. There is never any pressure to buy either and if nothing else it will give you some tips when looking at other shops or online. They do sizes up to 30/32.
Larger Than Life, Kew, London

Similar range to Emma Plus and Claire the owner is equally friendly and knowledgeable.
For online shopping
http://www.navabi.co.uk/
A huge selection and again good sale prices.
Edit to add the Anna Scholz website. http://www.annascholz.com/
Some of the items are very expensive if looking for everyday wear but there are good reductions in the sale. From my experience I do not think the quality of her knitwear is good value, bobbles very easily. Her silk, cotton and jersey items are top quality.
Ebay is a great place for quality plus size clothing once you know the brands and designs that flatter.
IMO it's all about fit. It does not matter what size you are, if you are wearing ill fitting clothes you'll not feel as good as when you are wearing something that you know you look great in.0
