Way to go Pink Clanger with the Carvela wedges!! :j
Was at the boot sale bright and early this morning and bought myself :
Primark Maxi Dress 1.00
H & M Leopard Print Cardie 1.00
Jigsaw Pink and grey floral midi dress - absolutely gorgeous and only 2.00!
And for my mum - an East red and black shift dress 2.50 - I am seriously dressing this woman!!:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
First boot sale in an age this morning - us and about 10,000 others entirely due to the rubbish weather we've had for the last month!! I went specifically to find holiday reading books and came away with
4 novels at 50p each,
a hardback for £1.
Then I went off message!
I found a gorgeous 'advent calendar book' thing which will be for the grandchildren - open it up, and each day of advent has its own little mini-book in - 50p, and it looks as if it's never been used.
2 champagne flutes - 50p the pair (needed to replace ours, as we only had one left)
Finally - these 4 John Lewis champagne flutes, brand new, boxed - £1:
http://www.johnlewis.com/230211130/Product.aspx
and a nearly new router for the princely sum of 50p - ours has died. OH reckons it's worth £70.
On top of all this, my OH found a £2 coin on the floor - so it was a pretty productive morning, one way and another!
I was also sorely tempted by a little piece of black mark Belleek pottery - the lady wanted £10 for it, but wouldn't come down to £8, so I walked away, and, on another stall, a lovely Poole pottery vase for £30 - again, more than I was prepared to pay, so I left it.
Sometimes that's the hardest thing of all, I think. I don't need either of those items at all, but I've still woken up this morning sort of wishing I'd bought them. The ridiculous thing is that if I HAD bought them, I'd have woken up this morning thinking - Well, you paid too much for that, didn't you - and do you really need any more clutter?????Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
My local shop had a few mens suits in today. Picked out a Paul Smith navy suit which was immaculate. Still had the buttons in the Paul Smith packet in a pocket. Bought it for husband who doesn't have a clue about designer clothing but it fitted perfectly apart from needing the length of the trousers taking up. Found out it sells in Selfridges for £685
I bought it for..................£5 !:):)

I'm going to my first car boot since I was a little girl this Saturday. Can't wait to see if I can get some nice clothes like so many others have.
At the moment I've been buying on eBay and it's turned me into a right stingy person; I can't even go into Primark now without saying, "I could get that cheaper on eBay!" But with eBay fees and postage, things soon add up. So I'm hoping that car booting will be the thing for me (plus it'll limit my spending to once a week instead of once a day!!!).
Any tips for a novice buyer? I've already got my bag for life out ready (and the partner is coming with me to carry it!). Thanks.0 -
Take a bag Of coins with you as some stall holders quickly run out of change. If you see something at a price you think is fair then pay it. If it seems a but expensive ask nicely if they will take a little less.
Keep a look out for designer labels, even if they don't fit you there is an option to sell on eBay, or to your friends
If the sale is in a field take your Welles. Enjoy yourself, boots are great fun and you can get some real bargainsYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

No doubt someone will come along soon to say if you are buying to sell, you need to let the taxman know!0 -
I bought a pop up pirate game on Sunday for 20p. The stall holder wanted to go home. I also got jeans and t-shirt for 4yrs twins 50p each, superman dress up £2 and a Ben 10 mini kids suitcase wheely thing for £2. They take one each on caravan holidays and can take as many toys as will fit and then they have to repack their own without the 'XXX took that toy out. He has to put it back' argument.0
