Not a clue, sorry.
I suspect it'll be above a certain number of posts but unsure what that number is.

Goanmad, I hope you mean they paid you 20p for 100 years of solitude, it's an awful book! (in my opinion of course, although I've read others of his that I enjoyed. Really wish there was a flippancy/sarcasm button!). I thought I'd got a couple of book bargains till you said that!
I went into RSPCA, saw a few tempting things but didn't buy. I saw a couple of skirts but they either weren't my style or weren't in good condition, and one I didn't recognise the label so wasn't sure if it'd fit me. (I'm a size 18 in some labels, the others I just refuse to buy lol). Their pricing strategy confused me though, the same price for supermarket labels as Next?
Then I went to PDSA, which I love. I saw a hardback Doris Lessing book for £1.50, a gorgeous tea caddy with blue and white stripes, a little 3d teapot on top and a mouse peeking out from the bottom, £2, and a gorgeous brown hippy skirt with beads on the tiers, I think it was £3, could have been £2 though. Not sure if it'll fit yet, but it's an elasticated waist so it should do. Unfortunately, I didn't have any cash on me and their card reader was broken, so they agreed to keep them all back for me till tomorrow morning. Only problem with that is that I'll have more time to look round the other chazza shops and might spend more...
Then I called into the City Varieties one, I've never been before but def will again! It was great, what I'd call a 'proper' charity shop - bric a brac crammed on shelves and tables, and clothes fitted in around the walls. It even had a plus size rail, I was tempted by a J Taylor jacket for £2.50, but I'd never wear it. I got the first Dark Tower book by Stephen King, which I've wanted for ages, for £1.20. I'm going to go back when I've got more time to check out the ornaments and stuff.
Too skint for a car boot this week, but hopefully next weekend I'll get to the Otley one again to pick up more gorgeous cheap costume jewellery.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Did a little chazza crawl today.
When I went to pick up yesterday's finds, I got another storage jar, yellow with blue grapes on it, for £1.25, and a book.
Then I got another two storage jars, blue and pastel covers, for £2.49 the pair, a nice little bead bracelet for 99p and a couple of books.
A few books in another shop.
Last stop, I got a book, and some nice costume jewellery. A pair of earrings with amber coloured drops, 99p. A nice antique silver coloured bracelet and necklace with bluey purpley beads, 99p each. And a gorgeous black and white pendant and earring set, 1.99.
I overspent a bit, but I'm happy with it all. And I've finally got enough kitchen storage for all the ingredients I've bought since peeking into OS, so no more showers of flour and semolina when I open the cupboard!
I really think I need a tattoo on my forehead - 'do not sell books to this woman' - I've got around 200 waiting to be read, and need to sell another 100 that are just hanging around. They really are my weakness!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
The car boot today was packed with traders despite last night's downpours and muddy ground! I was pleasantly surprise as didn't expect much.
I got an as new copy of Terry Pratchett's new book Unseen Academicals which I was looking into buying so dead happy with that. Only £3.
I then got an unworn Boden long-sleeve top, a barely worn cord Fat Face skirt, an unworn Ann Harvey cardigan, two 3/4 length sleeve Indigo Moon tops, both unworn and an as new Boden cardigan, for the grand total of £5.
They all had £2/£3 price tags on the hanger but the lady selling them didn't even bother asking for full price for them, I think she's learnt that I will always haggle!
Very pleased!2009 Wins = £833

Ooh I'm jealous about Unseen Academicals, I bought mine from Amazon, it never occurred to me it'd be at a car boot so soon!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Me, too! :rotfl:
No booting, jumbling or chazzing for me as BF's under the weather and needed to conserve his strength for tonight's party plans. I did pop round to a friend's house earlier and she gave me a leopard print tunic dress with massive padded shoulders she had made in Thailand in the 1980's - so that's my bargain fix for the day!0 -
I know, I was quite surprised to see it really! Didn't even bother haggling as £3 for a hardback which was released last month is pretty darn good!

Trying to decide whether or not to go to the afternoon car boot later. I'm a bit skint, but I've got itchy feet and a feeling it'll be a good day. Hmm.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
