Joyce63, glad the volunteering is going well - I remember some of the awful things people donated to Charity shops on the Mary Portas programme last year - fingers crossed you don't find anything too vile!

I used to work in a CS...make sure you have some of the gel hand sanitizer in easy reach when sorting through the bags!

We used to find allsorts! The most memorable occasion was opening a bag to find everything inside soaked with wee :(

I'm in car boot withdrawal, the last two weeks have been rained off. I need a fix!

Heatwave starting this weekend apparently so you can hopefully indulge your craving!:j
  • i got a goregous red herring red dress with large black belt from the charity shop in town today, shirt style on top but the hem is layered ruffles, label says 8 but its def more a 10 as im curvy, specially up top lol, it was £3.25 and will be perfect for my cousins birthday night out next month!! though soon as my daughter saw it she made me put it on and leave it on, so god know what my neighbours thought of me prancing round in a dressy dress on a tuesday night lol.

also got daughter a gorgeous padded next coat that will be perfect for winter, she's just turned 5 and the label says 3-4 but it's one of them ones that comes down to the knee, she tried that on and it's only just above her knees now-next tend to be on generous size lol. and that was a total bargin at £1.25!!!

I hope you're right, I find myself thinking about the bargains I might have had if the CB was on  On a side note, don't you hate it when you see people walking away from a car boot with carrier bags full of stuff? I always want to know what's in there...would it be rude to ask? :rotfl:

You would never believe what have i seen today in charity shop-Amazon Kindle with charger, carry bag, instructions and in excellent condition!Price-well £50.00-I would say not THAT high.Did I buy it-it was really tempting but no as the manager told me it's american and I need to buy an adapter-and I'm(let's say)not very good with gadgets.
I bought an Ipod clasic from the very same charity shop couple months ago as I know the stuff they are selling is good and if you have any problems they give you a full refund.
But anyway-giving Kindle to charity shop-what do you think?
