I think you've missed the boat on that one. If you'd been looking around here a month or two ago, you'd have seen that everyone was getting it for that, or even less.

    Hmm, bummer

It does actually. You steal stuff; you obviously haven't got the principles that tell you that you shouldn't be stealing stuff.

Still doesn't mean I don't have principles. I would just have principles that you don't agree with. That isn't the same thing.

There was talk of a three licence family pack though. It might help to bring the cost down a bit.

However, Thou shalt not purchase a product if the RRP is higher than America, even though its available cheaper here, It goes against my principles!:D

    I'm off.

Yeah, Spaceboy seems to have a very strange set of "principles." Can't imagine a judge would be too impressed if you should up in court to say it was okay to pirate software because my "principles" say it is!

I'm more complaining about their normal retail price, I know it was a limited time offer.

Ideally I'd like it for about £50. This is supposed to be a money saving forum!
Sure, they're selling at RRP, but that doesn't make them "scummy".
Me, I'll wait until I see it at a reasonable price or free; I don't really need the latest version of Windoze.

I was talking about within the Rules set out in the End User Licence, which for OSX state it must be on Apple Hardware.
Well, I think Apple would have a hard time with the monopolies people in trying to impose their own brand of hardware...

Again though to obtain some kind of support for Sun Solaris you need a paid for agreement if I am correct.
And precisely what kind of support do you get from Microsoft?

Apple already do "impose" their own brand of hardware.

People just find a way around it.

There's no law that says you have to make your product compatible with everyone else's product.

Any product is only worth what each person is prepared to pay for it.

I want an improved OS and I am prepared to pay x amount.

The x is dependent on how much improvement I will get.

Although I have had some great advice here I am still not sure how much I need to budget for any new software, firewire card and maybe printer.

I think I will wait a little longer before making the decision!

No harm in waiting but if something runs on Vista, it will run on Windows 7, so your printer should be fine.. though as you say your network card doesn't sound that promising.

Most software should also be fine but there is a Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor you should run and see what it says for your own system.

There will also be a Windows XP mode for Windows 7 but your hardware (especially the CPU) has to support it.. (mine doesn't)

    Regards
    Sunil

Thanks for the links. The upgrade advisor tells me that Nero and Power DVD will not work but that is not much of a problem.

More of a problem is the Graphic Adapter which will not support Aero.

Could the Prolific USB to Serial Com Port be the firewire card?

It tells me my Epsom r200 printer is compatable but I know it doesn't work properly with XP!!
