You're right, but I'm just pointing out that you are in fact wrong, the official UK prices are higher than the US.

It's because that's what the RRP will be in 2010. Microsoft have discounted the price up until then, so it's actually a retailer ploy to make you seem like you're getting a bigger discount.

Now that you know that, are you going to throw a tantrum at retailer selling practices? :rolleyes:

At Tesco's yes. They are charging £147 for software they're getting cheap.

I'm still going to hold out for a £50 offer, short on cash and I'd like to get one for my dad too.

I think you've missed the boat on that one. If you'd been looking around here a month or two ago, you'd have seen that everyone was getting it for that, or even less.
