I am going to attempt a restricted internet access starting tomorrow and finishing after Easter - that is 14 days.

    Here are the rules:

    - I am allowed to check emails once per day. It has to be on the time when I have time to actually reply to them. What happens now is that I read them and then I have to go back to answer them later all the while the unaswered emails are bugging me as addition to my list of not done things

    - I am allowed to go and clear my email account on separately allocated time getting the inboxes completely full

    - I can use the computer to write diary posts and blog posts that I can then post here and in my blog at the same time as I am checking emails

    - I can post on the forum when it comes to getting help with the bailiff situation and can come once a day to check if I have got replies

    - I can go to my online banking so that I can get my accounts upto date.

    - I can go to freegle to post offered items

    - I can go to fleabay to sell but not to buy

    - I can go to Am4zon to check book prices in view to sell, not to buy

    - I can use computer to access the online learning portal

    - Computer goes on only max twice per day on the days that I am on holiday next week and weekends and once per day at home and only for half an hour max during my lunch break during working days.

    - If I have forgotten to do something while been on computer - tough - it has to wait for the next session the next day. List of tasks to do on computer kept in the note book.

    - Computer doesn't go on first thing I come home in the evening. It goes on after DD has gone to bed and I have sorted out the kitchen and done one other thing from my todo list

Perhaps I should print this so that I can't use coming here to check my rules as an excuse to have a sneak peak of MSE ;)

So I shall keep you posted how I get on but if you don't hear from me don't worry I am hopefully feeding more paper to the shredder.

PS this also applies to TV. I am only allowed to watch it 1 hour per day max and that is if there actually is something I want to watch. Also TV and comp both need to go off at 10 pm the latest. I can have a quick look at the news online at lunch break in Finnish, English and Swedish. Should be enough to keep me current. I am allowed to read in bed after ten but lights need to go off between half ten and 11.

Well done Marru! That is so disciplined! Good luck! And if you do keep to it, I will make a similar list about all the things I need to achieve in my life and use you as my inspiration for a decluttered house, etc!

    Good luck hun!

What a wonderful BF! I hope you two manage to get the business you dream off. It would make things so perfect.

Can I ask - do you make the sandwiches, ie bread, butter, ham, then wrap in clingfilm (freezer friendly) and then put in freezer? then take to work and allow to defrost naturally?

See, I am cheating already. I am at work waiting for the software to start up and having a sneak peek here.

Yes I put butter, ham and cheese and then wrap in cling film. Pop into my lunch box in the morning and it will be perfect by lunch time to eat it. And now I also keep tins of soup in my drawer at work. I am not quite there yet making my own and freezing enough.

    Jo :j

You just look after yourself and take all the advise available!!! Oh, come and visit one weekend with the littlies if you don't mind driving the distance. I think I can rustle up something for lunch. It won't be up to the Diner's standard but should keep us going.

    Challenge so far:

Lunch break half an hour forums, 15 minute news sites and 15 minutes clearing my personal email inbox.

When I came home did some stitching with a cup of tea. Did washing up while waiting pasta to come to boil, did some shredding of papers while pasta was boiling. And now the washing up has already been done.

Also I have started a list of things to do on my note book. I have so far following categories:
    - call
    - email
    - do
    - errands

As soon as I remember something it goes on that list. Oh and the do needs to be put into categories as well:
    - can do anywhere
    - can do only at home
    - needs computer to do it anywhere
    - needs computer to do it at home (planning on moving my personal spreadsheets to editgrid, obviously not setting them as public files, so that I can do more computer stuff anywhere i.e. utilise my quiet times at work ;))

I have now until 9 pm to catch up here and do one more thing from the list. Then it is computer off and telly on for an hour for Masterchef and stitching before reading half an hour in bed.

I am going easy with myself today because I am so tired so allowing more browsing time. Really pleased with the small steps taken today.

    :j well done Marru

You are making me feel ashamed of myself. I came on and said right! pay ebay for the item you have bought for customer, quicker you get it, quicker you get money from customer, and sort out netmums meet and other stuff... but NO started looking at FB and MSE....

slaps hand, and goes off to make list of things to do and so can cross off when done.
