A friend of mine was disqualified from driving (he is a boy racer and a bad driver )
He has since then retaken his test and regained the license.
Does anyone here know how many point he can accumulate before he loose his license again?

Yeah, If he passed his test after 1996 It is '6 Points only'
Pre 1996 it would be 12 points.
But for any offence of Drink Driving I don't think it would be Mitigatable?
Lol - He is surely not planning to go thru the 'Process' a 2nd time is he.
They say the 1st time is enough for most people!!
And you get over it.:oThomson 757 Man0 -

Are you going to misinform everyone? If you get 6 points within 2 years of passing your test, you get banned and should have to resit your test.
OP I'm unsure if it is 6 points in 2 years again but the post above is so obviously wrong.0 -

It is after 96, he is only 24
Is there a place where I can find this in a writing to show him? I know he is not gonna believe me otherwise.
I tried searching the net earlier today but cant find anything. He just had a speeding ticket yesterday so we are trying to talk some sense into him :wall:0 -

Read this. Once he sits his test again, theres no new 6 point limit as far as I can see.0 -
Im Defo sure that if you get 6 points in your 1st 2 years that you lose your licence.
But as he is 24, I would think he would be 'Chancing' anything with only 6 points on his licence.
I have 12 I passed my test in the 1990's.
My sister has only 6 points on her licence.
If you get caught with no Insurance - 8 points and a 525.00 fine here in West Yorkshire.
They have really put their foot down with Insurance.Thomson 757 Man0 -

Although he has re-passed his test, the 6 points remain on his licence so if he gets another 6 points that would add up to 12 which could mean disqualification again.0 -
Maybe so, Or 12 points can be pleaded with 'Mitigating Cirdcumstances'
Done all that....:rolleyes:Thomson 757 Man0 -
And that is why I said 'could mean disqualification';)0

And so they should, anyone caught without insurance should be banned IMHO, I was disabled by an uninsured driver who got off scot free.
Those without insurance usually have no MOT and they are driving around in dangerous vehicles and driving in any fashion that they want because they dont care or they would be legal.
I have no points.
