  • Need some help with RE

Accepted a phone call one for today (only date) but in the date choosing stage it won't let me select today. Thought it might be a techie prob, so tried in firefox and ie, but no joy. Called them but office closed and assume an email will not be read. Normally I would carry on anyway and contact them on Monday, but I need stage 5 for the recorded tel number.

Anyone have an idea what I can do? Have till 5pm today!

PMSL At one of the questions on the Helion profile - What sort of house do you live in - one of the options is "Igloo" :):):)

Maybe that is for us who live in Scottishland.:rotfl:

This ms company don't normally ask for what is on either side of the shop you visit. It is not on the paperwork, but when I have tried to enter the results on the website it has asked me what is to the right and left of the store. This store is over 30 miles away and I dont hae time to back there to look. I have tried to google it. I think that I have one side of the store, but not the other side.

I know I am a bit late ( just catching up after all the Xmas shopping etc) but if this happens again try phoning the original shop and ask what the shops either side are as you lost your gloves, mobie etc and need to get their phone number.

  • Hi, I'm new to mystery shopping so please be gentle! I am looking at the car dealerships job on Bare and I have a couple of questions...

    1. The fee says shop fee £aaa +/- £bbb. It says I have to visit between 5-17 dealerships. So, if I accept the job and find out for example I have been assigned 7 dealerships, will I get paid just £aaa or will I get £aaa for the first one plus £bbb x 6 for dealerships 2-7?

    2. Would you recommend doing a car dealership to a newbie?

    3. I am looking on a google map of the car dealerships and there are plenty in the city where I live. The google map has also found some dealerships in towns surrounding my city. Am I likely to just go to the dealerships in my city or would I typically be sent to the towns further afield also? Some of these towns are probably too far away for me to visit (time and petrol).

Thank you for helping - I'd rather check these points first before accepting the job rather than take it and find out it isn't something I can do :)

Of course we are all gentle on here.

I wouldn't say it is the easiest way to start MS'ing as there is a lot to memorise. UKMonkey on here is the resident expert so may advise more.

And you are paid the fee for each garage.

Have you also signed up with some of the companies on the 1st page of the thread. Gap are easy for starters at MS'ing as you don't have a lot to memorise. Also RE though their reports are lengthy and ask loads of questions over and over. Also try GfK.

Don't forget you have to complete the whole circuit assigned to you, i.e. if you get a circuit of 5 you have to do all five, do any less and you will not get paid for any of them.

At the risk of being called a troll again! can i just say, i am told by people where i use to work, that their bosses are using "mystery shoppers" to sack people. I said this once before and was called a troll. It looks like their bosses are presenting staff with a ticked list saying they have failed the mystery shop which is against shop policy. So can i ask a) would the paperwork you guys submit identify the company and yourselves? b) if the member of staff being accused appealled thro a tribunal would the MS company appear in court or the actual MS? as my ex colleagues beleive some of the MS presented are fake and done by management to reduce staffing levels. I knew there was something dodgy when i was there, now they know what it is they can fight it... they know this as one memner of staff failed the mystery shop on their day off!!!!!!!!!!

    cheers loopy

Loopy would that be the supermarket with a Green sign. Where staff are called colleagues. If so they are an appalling company to work for I have just chucked working for them and can confirm we got told 1) Fail one MS you get counselled. 2) Fail a 2nd and you get the full disciplinary hearing usually meaning you lose a years bonus....about £200 - £300. Fail a 3) SACKED..

Thank you for that :) I've just worked out what I didn't understand in the fee section - that the first number is euros and the second is pounds.

I'm working my way through the list of companies on page 1 and applying for them cheers. Nothing in my area for gap or RE at the moment and GfK aren't recruiting from my area but I understand that it will pick up in the new year and there will be more available then (hopefully!).

I guess no one has any ideas? What a shame, was looking forward to it - defeated by technology...
