Hi all-newbie alert! Just signed up for Gapbuster this weekend-have read through a lot of this thread and its very helpful so thanks for that.
I've been told to make my first assignment a simple one so which would you recommend to start with? Theres a mobile phone one which doesn't require a purchase but there is a lot to remember! can you record (on your mobile-without them knowing) what the staff member says or is that v illegal?! Probably very daft question-sorry!

    Welcome!

You're right that there's a lot to remember with the phone ones, but as long as you're prepared for it and have read the notes thoroughly so you know what you're doing you should be ok.

Personally I find the pizza-delivery jobs on GAP the easiest - you don't have to leave the house so you can make notes as you go along and there's not too much to remember. Having said that, I don't think there'll be any of those left this late in the month.

As for the recording thing, I havn't tried that personally so wouldn't be able to give advice on that one. Someone else may be on here later to clarify that..

Well like most of you I have had a very quiet week on the ms`ing. Had a good reimbursment job to do yesterday. I set off with no snow and headed towards TG`s territory....OMG it was awful. All the way there I kept thinking I`ve got a bottle of diet coke in the car and I could cover myself with all of the dusters

Just got a vision of you lying in the back seat of a car with 100's of carefully layered dusters covering you head to foot. Pmsl, excellent.

I've got my last job tonight - a pizza competitor dine in, then thats me done for the year. I'm clocking out.

Thanks MissQwerty-I think I will start in January and use the time over Xmas to read all I can about it and practice memorising instructions!

the way there I kept thinking I`ve got a bottle of diet coke in the car and I could cover myself with all of the dusters ( I run a cleaning company) if I get stranded.

I too was out in the snow yesterday. I kept thinking I could cover myself with all the dust in the car :o

Lol...if we got stranded together I would have all the equipment to get you clean and sparkling....keep us warm eh? Could drink all the flash liquid...apparently it contains alcohol! Also got a Hetty and Henry in the boot so we would have friends along.hehe! Plus I had all the decs that I bought so we could`ve strung a few around...very festive.
  • Can some experienced RE shopper please help out. I am a new to Retail Eyes.

I accepted a pub assignment for Thursday, then changed the shop date to Friday (yesterday) but was unable to do it because local bus was suspended due to heavy snow. I then tried to change the date to Saturday (today) but it wouldn't let me, saying that I"ve already changed the date once and I need to call their office if I want to change the date again. I called but kept getting answering machine, so I have written to them using their "contact me" link on the website. I just checked my email and assignment date this morning, no reply and no date change.

What should I do? should I release the assignment and re-select it again because it's supposed to have 2 more shop date available.

    Thanks in advance.

If you release it you won`t see it again! Probrably it is a job that cannot be done at the weekend. I would just wait to hear the response from your email. They may let you reschedule to a date next week.

Good luck moneylabel. You will get all the help you need on here. Personally I find with Gap the golden arches are easiest. All you need to record are left and right, time in and out. No staff names etc. Before you go in do your left, right and time in and type into your make a note bit time out ready to type in as you leave. When you approach the shortest queue have your mobie stopwatch ready to click start. Click start as you joing queue and press stop on payment completion. Press restart then stop when meal is completed. At that point ask for a receipt....but then you may get a floor show. Chair pulled out for you, someone asking if your meal is OK.etc etc.
Gap will always say your meal time seems faster or slower than expected. Just say exactly what happened.ie you thought the service was very good or very bad.

Unless you love pizza I would avoid home delivery. I only did 1 and the re-imbursement was a fiver less then the cost. I could have got 5 better pizza's from a supermarket for the price. Pizza was cold. 1/2 went to my 2 dogs. Even 1 of them looked at me as if to say " Oi where's my Pedigree chum I ain't eating this crap" Had she been able to use my mobile(she ate the last one) she would have phoned the RSPCA!!!:rotfl:
