I know what the answer is going to be, but I'll post it anyway.

I'm job hunting at he moment and wherever I go I have google ads, gumtree ads and other sites promoting heavily ukmysteryshopperjobs.com - Anyone any history of them. They reckon they have been on BBC (was it Watchdog!!) £28.50 sign up (yes I know - why pay them)

Plus the icons further on - I've MS'd 12 of those for other companies?

I contacted these people for further information. Kept on getting emails off them, or rather someone called Karen Somers.

Seeing as I refuse to pay an admin fee to do mystery shopping, I've ignored the emails. The email address that I used to contact this company has now started to get spam - I create a new address for most enquiries with companies that I've never dealt with before so that I can avoid spam.

Now it may just be a coincidence that I'm getting this spam; then again it may not be.

Anyone else contacted this company and subsequently got spam?

Anything specific? As I tend to lump all my emails together and I've lost track as to where the spam is coming from.

As for the company - they offer wild claims about income, and keep lowering the admin fee. Though I cannot find anyone who has signed up to ask for feedback.
Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

There are three types of people in the world, those who can add up and those who can't.

The two that I got today were from
Sender: offer@minesmiles.com

Subject: Offer pack 69$!!!

and

Sender: boss@serverbestid74s3.com

Subject: Holidays Specials - Price #Pharmacy !!!

My emails are plain text - I've heard that it stops spammers knowing that they have actually reached a kosher account. The only thing that is in these particular emails though is an HTML link.

Regarding how I operate my email account, I have bought a domain name and some web hosting. This allows something like 1000 email accounts so I create one for each company that I deal with. For example, I've registered on here with something like mse@mydomainname.com whilst amazon would be amazon@mydomainname.com, etc. This UKMysteryshoopingjobs has its own unique address - and only that address has been spammed.
Now obviously it could just be luck that I’ve got spam; or rather luck on their part that the spam has reached me. However, I have received no other dodgy emails and any mail directed to my domain name – regardless of whether I’ve created an email account or not would land in my inbox – but I would know what address had been typed. So, if I got mail addressed to hgtycbhjcvwkj@mydomainname.com, it would still get to me. I can then block it if I wish.

Anyhow, sorry to go way off topic, just thought that I’d let you know of my possible experience with this agency.

• Gotta say.... whether or not you think a new thread was needed yet or not, or whether or not you think Thumper was 'worthy' of starting it or not... this was bit of an over-reaction.

Can we drop all the 'don't you know you I am?' type responses, and the putting down of new or recent posters?

In fact, can we make it an unofficial New Years Resolution?

Yup, spot on. The HTML email would possibly have an invisible image in the email. The image is a unique filename to correspond to your email address, so, the sender can see whether "your" image has been downloaded from their servers (i.e. by you opening the email and the image hence loading) and so can see whether you've opened it.

Morning all
Well like most of you I have had a very quiet week on the ms`ing. Had a good reimbursment job to do yesterday. I set off with no snow and headed towards TG`s territory....OMG it was awful. All the way there I kept thinking I`ve got a bottle of diet coke in the car and I could cover myself with all of the dusters ( I run a cleaning company) if I get stranded. Anyway turned out to be a nice easy job, only one till opened cos most of the staff never made it in, and the garden centre was closed due to adverse weather conditions so the conversation about the trees took place inside as we both just looked through the window at them. I felt so sorry for the member of staff who offered to open the garden centre for me so I could go and choose my tree! Brrrh....no way! I made my excuses as they say...but gave the lad a good write up!
On the plus side too, they have a really good sale on of Xmas decs so got well stocked up for a fiver!

Hi all-newbie alert! Just signed up for Gapbuster this weekend-have read through a lot of this thread and its very helpful so thanks for that.
I've been told to make my first assignment a simple one so which would you recommend to start with? Theres a mobile phone one which doesn't require a purchase but there is a lot to remember! can you record (on your mobile-without them knowing) what the staff member says or is that v illegal?! Probably very daft question-sorry!
