AAArrrgggggggggggg I have just tried to order pizza for a GYP delivery, only to be told they are too busy to accept any orders and do not have enough delivery drivers. Has anyone had this happen before? I have emailed GYP, does anyone have any ideas what else I can do, as I cannot reschedule as it won't let me:confused:

    Many thanks

    Ang xx

Sorry Ang, I missed this at the bottom of the last page. I'm blocked from Pizza as I failed the test so can't really help but I think you did all you could. They might let you re-schedule once they read the e-mail. Do let me know what they say though, I'm meeting with gyp on Tuesday so can feedback if they cause problems.

Right, I'm signing up to these as I need the money! :D

Anyone want me to put their name as a referral name on the Retails eyes one?

Also do you know what to roughly put in the "Please describe what qualities you think a good mystery shopper should have in the box below." On the Grassroots site?[/QUOTE]

I signed up with Grassroots ages ago so I'm afraid I can't remember exactly what I put, but in general in such circumstances I always include reference to......
Good standard of spoken and written English
    Good observation skills
    Flexibility
    Reliability
Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative
    Honesty

    Objectivity
    Attention to detail
    Good memory
Good organisational skills and the ability to work to specific deadlines

It's always worked in the past and got me accepted with all my chosen Mystery Shopping agencies.

    Welcome neneromanova

The majority of the agency web sites have quite comprehensive information on what qualities they are looking for in a Mystery Shopper. They have kindly put together notes on what key skills you need and there are FAQ that give excellent pointers.

On the Grass Roots website, under the banner of Apply to be a Mystery Shopper and in a box to the right Grass Roots have some info
About Mystery Shopping, Frequently Asked Questions and their Terms and Conditions.
Retail Eyes also has some excellent info as do all the rest!

If you read these you can then formulate your own views on what qualities you can bring to the agency.

Shopping Ninja has been really helpful but I think applications should follow the principles I have highlighted in red.

Sorry if this offends anyone, I do not intend this to be unpleasant or bullish. I just feel that if you wish to take up a job then you should put some personal effort in and not expect to have it handed on a plate.
    Happy snooping!

Just got back from my worst MS.

I've been very unwell for the last 3 days... lets just say I cant venture far from home and I'm considering entering the 100m qualifiers for the 2012 Olympics!. So after 3 days - I thought I could hack a pharmacy visit, and the extra spend will be handy right now. Well, I must be dehydrated, I came over all hot and dizzy in the middle of the assignment, had to sit down and have a glass of water.

    Think they will remember me?

    I've got 5 MS's tomorrow - eek!

Hope you feel better today kitchpoo and manage to get through your 5 assignments.

    I've re-arranged 2 and cancelled 2

I have one I can do in one of my good moments (I hope!)

I'm not offended and I agree with you. On a job application form, it's not a true reflection of your abilities if someone else has told you what to write.
Here I go again on my own....
  • I have some 'Cheap Shops' visits tomorrow for ESA (My first jobs with them), but you also have to purchase some items, and the pay figure quoted does not say if it includes the purchases or, if not and the purchases have to come off the pay figure then its not very much per shop !.

    Thanks

You will get the fee plus the reimbursement up to the amount they tell you to spend in the brief. Spend over and you only get just the figure they have told you to spend. Spend under and you will get exactly what you spent.

Usually with ESA, they quote you a figure for the purchases. That is paid on top of the assignment fee. I haven't got one of the cheap shops, but I think they said something like £3 purchases, which should be paid on top of the fee.

If you're not sure of anything, they are fine if you email them. I had to clarify something with the travel agent jobs and they replied the following day.
