You'll find all kindS on here from thosE who can only take jobs that don't have a purchase requirment Because they can't afford the £3.50 outlay to those of uS that have to bE VAT registered Because we have gone over the £100,000 clear profit in their first year.
If you have a specific question, ask away and take your chances. HTH :D

100K. That's impressive. I assume the bulk of that's video is it? I can't get past the 60K mark, but that's probably because I take too much time off - I've become a little too accustomed to the 3 day week ! Who are your favourite companies? My best payers are PIP and GFK (although every so often I get a call from a little independant MS agency that makes me an offer I can't refuse). Really nice to hear from a fellow full timer - I was beginning to think I was the only one.

P.S. What's with the SEB thing?

grrrrrrrrrrrrr i drove all the way to do a ms today only to find out it was not open on saturdays! i am going to have to release it as i can't go during the week. not very good as i have only been with gfk a few weeks :( hope i dont get told off! it had times down for sat so thought it would be open

then to top off my day i decided to drive and park in norwich instead of walk this afternoon as it was raining only to find every car park full so i had to drive home and walk anyway :mad::mad: i was dripping by the time i got to the phone shop. got to play with an iphone today but have to say, prefer my bb!

neneromanova, just write why you think you will be good at it e.g. observation skills, good memory, want to imprive service etc..... gets easier to think of things to put in boxes when you have been doing this a whille!

If the briefing notes said you could visit on a Saturday, it's not your fault that the outlet was closed when you got there. I have always found gfk very reasonable and in the past they have paid up for failed visits that were not the fault of the Mystery Shopper.

thanks, i will give them a call about it as has opening hours for mon-sat displayed so i did not check it

omg this phone shop for gfk is taking a stupid amount of time to write up, nearly an hour :wall::wall: no wonder the fee is so high! although think it would help if i just did it in one go instead of checking on here and facebook!

  • Right, I'm signing up to these as I need the money! :D

Anyone want me to put their name as a referral name on the Retails eyes one?

Also do you know what to roughly put in the "Please describe what qualities you think a good mystery shopper should have in the box below." On the Grassroots site?

I signed up with Grassroots ages ago so I'm afraid I can't remember exactly what I put, but in general in such circumstances I always include reference to......
Good standard of spoken and written English
    Good observation skills
    Flexibility
    Reliability
Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative
    Honesty
    Objectivity
    Attention to detail
    Good memory
Good organisational skills and the ability to work to specific deadlines

It's always worked in the past and got me accepted with all my chosen Mystery Shopping agencies.

I think this is why it takes me so long to write all mine up!! That and I do seem to have quite a few RE jobs so that automatically takes longer lol.

I'm glad I'm not the only one easily distracted when I should be filling out reports. That's the main reason I turned to video mystery shopping - the reports are far less onerous, usually just a dozen or so tick-box questions. The only trouble is it's made me lazy so I have to concentrate twice as hard to remember all the details whenever I go back to written visits.

I'd quite like to try telephone mystery shopping for those days when I don't feel like going out. What companies offer it? Or would that be giving away your trade secrets?
