DD's next grading is her black belt in karate, so I think if she is going to do anything, it will be to complete that rather than switch. DS is just one belt behind her, so again, very close to black belt.

I know they both want to get that black, so I think they will have this break from it, and get back to it after the winter.......they are so close, and both know that they don't want to waste what they have already done.

Other than that, I don't think they really have time for anything else - skiing seems to take up more and more time each year!

  • Love the shinny new diary H - fantastic opening - it did make me laugh

You are such an inspiration to everyone :j I'm looking forward to seeing you progress towards your goal. Go girl...

My DS's do judo via their school. Its not that expensive (insurance and weekly fee) compared to others like DD's riding but I think for my three is the cumulative effect of all the activities that is the pressure.

You are quite right, WHDFW - pressure of time, pressure of goals, etc etc - I have to admit, I was quite happy when both children asked to give karate a break for a bit.....DD is doing GCSEs this year so if she wants a bit more time in her life then I am happy with that.

She says she wants to get her black belt, because it will look good on her Uni application forms......so I am sure it will be something she returns to when she is ready!

And at the end of the day, my two don't exactly NEED any more sport in their lives :rotfl:

Argh - university applications - now you have mentioned another of my biggest fears. Have you done any research about sports scholarships?

Not yet - we are having enough difficulty trying to get DD to work out what she wants to do at sixth form :rotfl:

Currently the answer to that particular question consists of :confused::confused::confused:

So I am not even going to give myself the stress of looking at sports scholarships if she can't decide between biology and photography

Is this like Lord of the rings where you need to read them in sequence or Star Wars where you start with two then find out after number four you go back to one  oh god, shall not read anymore for now until somebody can please advise :)

If it helps, there are some recurring themes......
    • am skint
    • am tired
    • am tackling the ironing pile again
    • drinking coffee
There......you have no need to start at the beginning if you don't want to
